Kadence has recently replaced the starter templates with a new AI content builder. If you choose this then you can't go back to what they call the classic template. I wasted about four hours yesterday and drove site support bonkers.

I couldnt install the plugins I needed to make Kadence Pro work. Eventually, Site Support uploaded them. Then I tried to add a starter theme and because I was in the default AI mode (unknowingly) the AI kept deactivating the plugins. Had to ask site support to activate them.

I was in this loop for about three hours and then I was chatting to BrendaMZ in live chat and I know she uses Kadence she alerted me to the fact I was in AI mode.

So I had to delete the site and wait until the new site propagated which was about six hours.

SO just be aware whther you use Kadence free or paid, you have to decide do you want AI starter templates or classic the old way

Thanks for sharing Catherine. I've not long loaded it and going through it, but having trouble getting a header image to show. I've tried nearly everything and gone through tutorials for hours. I can get a title and logo showing, but it just won't show the image banner I want to put up. So thinking of changing themes even though I was told this is one of the best

Thanks for sharing. I tried the Kadence AI and could not load plug-ins. I wasn't aware of this problem. I changed the theme back to classic and decided to build from classic to keep things simple. More importantly it works fine. Since this is a new niche and website, my focus is 50 articles and resources and try to tailor the look and feel using the standard tools step by step.

Kadence developers wanted to go AI because many people requested AI customizations. I played around with it. It's great for individual customization for a business but not for "blogging." 😀

It is still new. Like you said before, when we had ChatGPT, remember how it hallucinates and stuff like that? Developers are still tuning it; there have been several updates since the AI Starter Templates plugin; some were buggy, and they had to fix it. It will get better over time!

I am still mot sorted even without the Ai i cant load the plugins

I am not sure what my problem is to be fair, I have bene using it for three years without having this problem

Thanks for warning people about that. Sorry, you had to go through that. The Kadence (in my opinion) AI starter template seems suitable for local brick-and-mortar or small businesses because it includes Google My Business mapping.

It can get frustrating.

Catherine, next time, set up a staging site. A staging site is where you can play around with new themes. I learned about the AI template by working with someone to set up a coffee blog using a free siterubrix staging site.

You can do that in your hubs.

Just use the free siterubrix and download the free Kadence, then the Kadence AI starter templates; you only have two choices, as you mentioned here.

You can't have both; it has to be one or the other. The AI template stays once you choose it (you're stuck with it) or the traditional (classic) starter templates that existed before the Kadencw AI Starter template.

Also, SiteSupport should have told you about setting up a staging site; they can do that on your domain name; if you wish, you can use the move feature (you guys called it transport?). After fixing a theme issue, it is the move feature from SiteRubrix to your domain.

I get it but at the moment i cant load the olugis, site support kindly uploaded them but they deactivate within half an hour.So i cant use the starter templates just the nasic theme. So far today i have a site with no content onbut the theme. I have asked site support to upload and await the outcome. Will keep you posted. Huhely frisyrating. Interesting. I did check the Kadence AI Starter Template, which is now version 2.0.8, and the Kadence Gutenberg Blocks Version is now version 3.2.23.

Both versions are updated as of today.

It matches the current WordPress 6.4.3

So it is current. It has to be updated to these versions as of today. They were released a couple of days ago. You have to keep updating them. Both plugins are working solidly for me. No problems. You can ask Kadence for support if you are a paid member.

Yes that is the next step . I update all my themes/plugins, etc, immediately . I have not been able to update blocks pro for a few weeks. Fortunately I have a hub with a site with just the theme on and my favourite starter template on so I have asked site support to copy it . Will keep you updated. I know, but the software Kadence AI is new, that is why. Many people were begging for customization of their online business, which was a huge reason why the Kadence team started with AI Starter templates. They are taking advantage of the technology, but it became too buggy at first, so they had to improve many hurdles to make the version stable for the new WordPress. It's that way for many plugins. I remain hopeful it will get resolved.
