Good morning Catherine,

I'm glad that Apple has seen sense!

Sometimes I think companies are better to focus on the things that they really know. It's good for us to use our own minds and not particularly go with the flow or pressure etc.

I hope all is well with you Catherine.

Have a fantastic day.

Roy

Always good Roy. i hope you and your beautiful wife are doing well

That's good to hear, Catherine!

Thank you for your kind words, Catherine, I had a few days in Greece last week, which was nice. My wife was already out there, but we came back together. I always enjoy Greece!

Have a great day.

Roy

Has anyone researched all the viable resources in making batteries? Lithium is not in great abundance. To continue making batteries we need natural resources that have a large amount in reserve. The moon doesn’t have enough of this natural resource, if the robots have explored correctly. Hydrogen operated motor vehicles, still does not have enough natural resources to manufacture hydrogen operating vehicles. The more science studies our resources, the increased knowledge of how much the earth, moon, mars has available for future use.

I am at a loss to understand why this huge push to electric cars is still going on . We don't have enough lithium to make the batteries in the first place. I totally agree and the embodied energy of disposing of these batteries is horrendous

Hydrogen is actually abundant they just need on board hydrogen driers to pull it from the air which makes it expensive to build the vehicles. Most things in an electric car do more harm than good and are all about shifting money from one side of the political aisle to the other. So much broken science in the scientific world as proven by Climate Gate leaked data that has been hidden for decades to sell one narrative.

I am at a loss as to why they are still talking these hulking lithium batteries with the existence of alternators and inverters which can be paired to create a system where you only need a battery to start the car and then it will charge itself endlessly. The only reason to not use existing auto tech to do this is it would put gas and electric charge stations out of business.

So true, I had a huge argument with a scientist here in Guatemala .She was advocating electric cars and how great they are for the planet. I pointed out embodied costs of batteries etc and also it is just a political shift. etcetera. She said you have dissed my whole education. I wondered, but wandered off, what about my education that i van see things for myself without being blinded by science

Science broke when the format of the grant changed from being a study of X to Prove or Disprove Y about X. Now scientists have to be cash-minded, the grants only fund one desired result, to prove or disprove the idiology of the money people. If it says prove climate change and you come back with science that counters it's existence then the grant goes to a lab with less integrity next year and your lab is seeking new funding or your job vanishes.

You only have to look at the crap the doctors/medical profession and scientists churned out about covid. Sadly most people don't know its broken, actually I think shattered is a better word.

Are you taking global warming into your calculations on Hydrogen? Our universe is in big trouble. Hope I’m gone before it all hits the fans.

I don't take global warming into anything too much evidence to disprove it and politicians are the only ones really selling it in non-funding cycles.

Plants though if you do count global warming thrive under moist climates and nitrogen is released by the evaporation of water and the natural process of a plant's nutrient processing. As the earth warms for this natural cycle there will be more and not less nitrogen in the air.

What is sad is they used to openly admit that when waters warm because of carbon most of which doesn't come from man but instead volcanic and seismic activity cause warming the warm waters release tons of new algae and seaweed that eat the carbon, cool the temperature and regrow the ice caps.

This has happened more than 100 times in History, it's fact, not theory but Al Gore theorized that if we repeat the theory of man-made global warming enough and sell it as truth and fact, then the money will shift from Conservative aligned fossil fuels to left aligned green energy companies. I am all for cleaner air and groundwater but not at the cost of wildlife habitat, and solutions that don't actually provide that.

We have a globe of politicians who just move money around regardless of the truth. We have greedy so-called scientists who enable them at a price, and we are beating each other up over which team we play on instead of cleaning mother earth because it is a so much nicer place to live in.

Yes I know , I get it

Hi Catherine

AI is essential to safer and better-performing electric vehicles.

Apple has also recognized some of the potential ecologic problems with using lithium batteries on that scale, such as mining, manufacturing, and disposal.

Frank 😎

Exactly the idea of electric cars is not feasible.

We have to redefine our concept of an ecologically safe and sustainable vehicle power supply. 😎

We do indeed, so glad my volcano is too steep for cars

Disposal would be in an open part of the desert (Navada) and the cost for the disposal and making sure that it doesn’t hurt the environment would be passed on to the buyer(s).

You live on the side of a volcano, Catherine? 😎

That's one proposal. Better would be a total battery redesign.

Yep, I live on the side of a volcano and flanked by two others about ten miles away

Are you good with physics?

Yes

Then come up with a power source that will replace battery

Hi Donald

Not necessarily replace a battery; maybe design a safer and more environmentally friendly battery. 😎

Frank 🎸

I could go down a rabbit hole and find out who owns all the lithium mines

That would be interesting info, Catherine.

Lithium can cause multi-organ damage/failure with chronic exposure, especially to the kidneys, liver, and thyroid.

Frank 🎸

I am aware Frank but there are hundreds of legal poisons, some everyday poisons, such as deodorants with aluminium. Talk about a direct poison to your lymphatic system

Hi Catherine

Yes, we need to be vigilant about various chemical, biological, and electromagnetic exposures that have the potential to cause anatomic and physiologic damage. 😎

Frank 🎸

Sadly it should not be our sole personal responsibility. i am not saying we don't have a responsibility, of course, we do. However, it's a bigger responsibility for govts

Hi Catherine

Politics is somewhat of a hit or miss situation, so we need to stay in the loop and be sure the government is acting in the best interest of its people.

Frank 🎸

Well said, Catherine! I am not even keen on AI right now either! It still has a LONG way to go, in my humble opinion, and in the US, Electric cars are not viable! They might be in the future.

Jeff

They are not viable we dont have enough resources on the planet to provide them with batteries. It makes no sense for Apple to divert their resources

I totally agree, Catherine! The time for them has not come yet. It might in the future, but not now!

On principal reducing your carbon footprint is essential for everyone on the planet but we have to take into account the embodied energy on the whole production cycle

Very true, Catherine!

Jeff

Have a great dat, Jeff

I am! You too, Catherine!

Jeff

This is why apple is so successful

Totally agree Barry, in my opinion I wondered why they went into cars in the first place.
