Amazon Has Now Entered the AI Arena
Amazon's relationship with artificial intelligence is getting increasingly serious, as evidenced by the e-commerce giant's recent $4 billion investment in Anthropic, the startup behind ChatGPT rival Claude. This week brought news that Amazon committed up to $4 billion to back Anthropic, taking a reported 20% stake in the AI firm.
Amazon's deal with AI startup Anthropic begins with an initial investment of $1.25 billion, but has the potential to reach as much as $4 billion over time if certain milestones are met. Though the exact size of the stake was not disclosed, Amazon confirmed its investment constitutes a minority position in Anthropic.
The massive investment underscores how serious Amazon is about expanding its presence in the conversational AI space amid the rise of chatbots like ChatGPT. Anthropic, founded by former OpenAI and Google AI researchers, has developed its own natural language model called Claude that can engage in informative conversations.
Amazon's backing of Anthropic fuels speculation that the two companies could partner to incorporate advanced conversational capabilities into Amazon's products and services down the line. Previously, Amazon had acquired autonomous vehicle startup Zoox and partnered with automaker Rivian, signaling moves into adjacent emerging technologies.

I haven't found the time to check out Claude yet, but I have heard good reports about the youngster!

It writes in a much more fluid less robotic style. It requires much less revisions to make it look as though it has been written by a human. Not certain yet, I will wait another month, but I think I will cancel chatgpt 4. Thanks for the heads up on the typo

It's just the English teacher in me, normally when I see the odd typo within the text I can let it slide, but... in the title it is a lot more difficult for me to do so!!
