Google AI Sucks For Current Information

I asked the Google AI Mode for current information on WA to see what it gave me. I saw a link and decided to read it. It was an article by Dreamgrow, last updated in January 2025, that was said to contain the most up-to-date information. Good thing I read it.

This is what Google said in response:

Lesson to learn here. Do not trust anything AI gives you. It is up to you to do your own research. Another example is below.

If you use AI for content creation, my advice is to verify sources. If you want to provide value and an honest overview of anything, it is up to you to create it. Don't believe me? Try it for yourself and read the crap Google AI Mode provides.
Rant Over!!

Hey Michael,
Thank you for sharing this information. I agree with you that sometimes the AI can be very inaccurate, especially because there are a lot of misleading websites out there. However, it is also important to remember to prompt it well to get better results. I used the prompt below with Gemini, and it gave me everything from the new points system to the UX changes, dark mode, the new menus, training changes, and so on. My output was quite spot on:
"Please give me the latest information on the Wealthy Affiliate platform, give me the latest updates about its UI changes, where to find the menus, training, etc., and the newest changes they made in the last few weeks. Please pull your information from the Wealthy Affiliate website, which is https://wealthyaffiliate.com"
Even without telling it where to pull the information from, it gave me the same results. If you were not looking for info about a specific website/platform, you should compare and fact-check the results, and in such a case, it could be more complicated to get the correct information, but there are various ways to verify the facts.
I had a debate with 1 of my drivers (Obviously my offline career) about an Hours of Service violation. He screenshotted the Google AI result he got from his search. I took a picture of the regs right out of the FMSCR manual (My bible for regulations concerning the department of transportation) and Google AI was 100% wrong. Do be careful with it and always check yourself. I don't do a lot of searching with the AIs yet but am going to dabble soon.
Thanks and Have a Great Day!

I have run into that as well. But it was how to calculate GVWR. They think they know it all.
Drivers or Google AI?.....lol How are things in Texas? I currently have 3 drivers down there loading a compressor, cooler and a fall off load. I think they are in Midland? I am in Safety now so I don't pay that much attention to where they go unless they get in trouble.....sorry for going off topic.
I actually retired. Then, a couple of weeks later, I lost my residence to fire. So I moved to Indiana, where I have other properties.
Wow, sorry to hear about your house. Glad you had a back up and yes they are children. Enjoy retirement!
In general, most AI draws its information from what is already on the internet whether it is true or false. I personally do not like AI for writing my content. Even though I use AI to help with research, I still have to check if that research is accurate.

My 2c worth - always check facts/details; AI helps you move faster - but you must be accountable. Just ask your AI of choice for some related links for a post.... see how many of those are duds. I also observe that Affiliate Marketing is indeed a fast moving field - but suggesting 'I am using 4 your old data and this is a fast moving field - please forgive me' is using the term FAST in a way I am not familiar with - Mr AI of choice had all the clock cycles in the world to get it right.
But I remain a big fan of AI. It really accelerates your activities - but I am responsible for the outcome.
