I have a DSP soundstage plugin that pretty accurately models the acoustics of the Royal Albert Hall, which I sometimes use in my home theater environmental parameter processor.

I generally find that the height virtualization for the ambient channels can be a bit over the top in terms of room echo, but it's pretty easy to adjust that for each movie and then have the surround AI module monitor and adjust it in real-time for the rest of the show.

It's a favorite for Operatic concerts! 😎

Yeah, audio engineers who design theater systems typically are the people that do it.

I have a master's degree in engineering (biomedical) and over 55 years of playing music and buying & designing musical amplification equipment. It's amazing what you can learn along the way. Lol 😎

My large home theater meets all THX and IMax certification standards for DTS-X and Dolby Atmos/Dolby Vision. It has dozens of very accurate digital simulations of famous venues that I've modified to fit my needs at home.

The small home theater in my music studio is just a Dolby 5.1 surround system that I use to watch music concert videos. It's also the system that I stream video on from the Internet, which would sound like garbage on the big system.
