I went to Jaxxy yesterday and clicked on site rank. I was very happy to learn that two of my articles were ranked number 1 on the first page of Bing and Yahoo.

New articles may very well start as number one but then new articles by competition may appear and they provide more or better content.
If your original article ranked #1 and your blog was 1500 words, I wouldn't focus much on the rank changes. I would write more posts..
google will test your article for weeks against different keywords.. if people click on it then it is tested some more .. if not then it is dropped for that keyword....
so maybe look at what you have as a title and description to tempt peopel to click your link...
will it make them curious enough to hover and click ...if not then maybe look at changing it...then leave it a week or two...
but it does take time to get your ranking settles...
like 34 weeks.....
so don't rush it and see what happens....
i'm glad you have seen some movement on your articles..a lot don't...

There is an inaccuracy with this I have had posts ranked on pages 2 and 3 yet Jaaxy would say not in the top 20 pages.
Also as Bo stated one day they are ranked next thing no where in the first 20 pages.
Good question. I have had several posts show up on google one day and then everything gone a couple of days later.

I know that it can be frustrating when this happens but there are many factors at work with organic SEO.
Try not to focus too much on checking every day and create more quality content. Obviously, you are doing the right things with your content but there will always be competition for the top spot.
