Do You Know How to Ride a Bike?

Did you know that success is like riding a bike?

Seriously, think about it.

Today, I watched a professional development training video, and the presenter discussed a metaphor he called "The Bicycle of Success." This concept resonated with me. You see, success is hard in the beginning, but the more you succeed, the easier it gets, and once you learn how, you never forget!

As for the metaphor, picture this; you are on a bike, and your goal is miles ahead. The left pedal of your bike is your mindset, the right pedal of your bike is your skillset, and the road ahead is your performance.

Mindset + Skillset x Performance = Success

Now, the distance between you and your end goal is not a flat surface; there is a big hill in the middle. When you first start on your journey, it's hard. The ride is an "uphill battle," so to speak.

So, you take your skillset, and you set your mind towards succeeding in your goal. The road will be hard in the beginning, and it will be hard for a long time. But, eventually, as long as you keep pushing down on those pedals and keep performing, you will reach the top of that hill.

Imagine yourself at the top of that hill. You took your skillset and set your mind to accomplishing your goal. Then, you started performing. You pedaled through the bumps in the road and fought your way up the hill. But you haven't reached your goal yet.

Luckily for you, you've learned how to ride the bike, and you fought your way through the challenges. The road ahead is now downhill, and your future successes are easier than ever!

All you have to do is keep pedaling and keep performing. Once you reach one goal, the next goal you set will be even easier to achieve! Now, as Queen would say... Get on your bike and ride!
