What Can Be Learned From a Tree?
Persistent
The winds blow but instead of viewing the wind as an adversary, the tree uses the wind to spread out and improve the strength of it's bonds between each leaf and branch. When adversity strikes, how do you view it -- like a destructive force of wind intent on uprooting, disfiguring, and impeding your growth OR as a way to strengthen, mature, and even prune (fine tune) your bonds, dreams, and overall growth?
Diverse
Environment, roots, care/neglect, and genetics make each tree diverse and unique. Tall, short, colorful, evergreen, thick trunk, multiple trunks...trees come in all different colors, sizes, and purposes; however, their uniqueness does not stunt their growth, their potential to achieve more, or their desire to grasp more sunshine. With no regard to physical appearance, they spread their arms wide to welcome each day as another opportunity to optimize their productivity and growth. Providing shade, fruit, and protection from the winds, they stand strong, proud, and steadfast.
Growth
Each tree starts as the tiniest of seeds and gradually develop into to magnificent unwavering pillars of stability. Little by little each passing year yields gradual development and increased strength against various challenges--lack of rain, fire, lightening, parasites, soil content, etc... In the same manner, the very things that challenge a tree are essential elements of the community that perpetuates the tree's growth. Trees cannot survive without soil, nutrients, sunshine, and sometimes the proximity of other trees. Overall growth is slow and steady providing sufficient time for the branches, leaves and roots to adjust to change with decreased stress and illness.
Trees are an amazing tribute to life, success, and beauty from diversity. Like a tree, your character (uniqueness), persistence, and gradual growth (mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually) will determine your ability to achieve your dreams and optimal potential.
Learn from a tree--spread your arms out every day, accept who you are, don't fear adversity/change, and give back to the community that perpetuates your growth.
Grow strong... Stand proud...Reach for the Heavens! --you will eventually sprout from the tiny constraints of your seed, reach farther, higher and deeper than you ever will if you give up on your dream(s) and yourself, and capture more sunshine to stimulate the fruition of your dreams.
Best Wishes for Success,
~Shawna

Our struggles are what shapes us. Some of the hardest struggles I have faced have given me my greatest strengths today, so I love this post. Thanks for writing it!
Hi Brian,
Thank you for your comment and I could not agree with you more. I firmly believe that our challenges and adversities are crucial to development, creativity, and unique journey to fine-tune our skills. You never realize your true potential until you are "forced" to think outside of the box, decide not to settle, and diversify your perspective.
Thank you again for your support and Happy Hump Day!
