Good Day Off, Fall Colors
I just took this photo about a half hour ago. It shows some of the fall colors around here. If the sun was shining they would be glowing. These are quaking aspens and they get the most gorgeous colors in the fall. This is a totally overcast day and they are still pretty.
I stayed home today since we have one car in the shop and my husband had to go to work at 5 AM, then rush home to change and get ready for an interview. I took him to work at 5 AM yesterday...lucky tomorrow it will be more like 7:30 or 8:00.
It was nice to have a day at home when I am not totally sick! I got a lot done and helped him get ready for his interview. He is interviewing to be the State Veteran's Coordinator. It is a lateral so no raise but may be a good move.
Off to make dinner!

Something nice about the fall it can be so settled, and the tress put on such a good display before they go to bed for the winter.
Those days at home can be so creative as well, best wishes on the new job front.
Yes! That is something I miss about living in a cabin in the mountains. Cozy time inside as a break from such as active life outside! We only had a wood stove for heat so it was very nice with the warm, crackling of the fire.

Thanks David. He currently coordinates prisoner transport for the State Troopers (they do that here regardless of whether the prisoners are municipal, state or federal).It is a very underpaid and overworked job though. He directs 23 Troopers and schedules where they need to go, which prisoners they need to pick, up which holding cells the prisoners go in, when they need to go to court etc. He in on the radio and phone all day and entering everything online. He works in the courthouse, monitors the prisoners, the security of the building, responds to calls from the judges, attorneys, even the U.S. Marshall's. He is responsible for the safety of the Troopers as well. He is technically an Emergency Services Dispatcher but does so much more. This job is a lateral move but hopefully would be less stressful.
That is wonderful Jessica you probably needed a day of rest anyway and you got to work at home instead. That was better yet. I hope everything goes alright with husband tomorrow with his interview. My prayers are with you.

The interview was today. The picture of him here was right when he got back. I think it went well.
I greatly enjoyed the day. I made a good dinner too.

I don't think I have a favorite season, but I know I love the changing of the seasons. It reminds us that change is inevitable and we must move on.
I never used to understand why fall was my Dad's favorite season. Now I do. It is cooler so it is easier to spend more time outside. The bugs are gone (mosquitoes, biting flies etc. which can be bad here in Alaska) and it is gorgeous.
I agree with you though, I like change in some things.
Alaska on my bucket list. Moving to Ukraine before end of year to get used to the cold. I actually carry a copy of Into the Wild when I travel. I cannot imagine how beautiful it actually is there. Good luck here at WA.
