Let me analyze with you what happened after lauching my new website on 12th June 2024.
Short story first: My textiles brand Suomiifabrics has been online since 2013, selling regurarly until 3 years ago when I had an health problem and I stopped working. I shouted down my Etsy shop too (which had 10 years!) and not published anything until now. Being outside the market for these three years has been a real disaster for my business. So, now I am in the situation of starting again as a new business, with the social media scenario totally changed.
WHAT HAPPENED IN 2 MONTHS OF LIVE SITE
- At the beginning, the site was not so stable, having some visualization problems from mobile, and sometimes from browser. With time, it became more stable and now the technical problems are really rare.
- The first sale in the online shop happened one month and half later: it came from ORGANIC SEARCH ON GOOGLE
- From the launch, I had 7 orders (total amount of 500 euros), one generated by the site itself, the others generated via DM in social and whatsapp
- I put the whatsapp chat on the site so the customer can contact me in every step of his journey on the site.
- The customers read EVERY SINGLE PAGE OF THE SITE: the About page is read, the BLOG is read, which surprised me actually. I thought they were interested more in products, but they are also seeking for other informations about the textiles.

MOST OF SALES HAPPENED VIA CHAT (IG DM, MESSANGER OR WHATSAPP)
I guess this is the most important pattern I noticed in these 2 months.
Just one sale came automatically via website, the others were ALL DRIVEN BY CONVERSATIONS I had with customers via chat.
These shows an important behaviour of customers which was underlined also in some studies about Tik Tok.
Customers need interactions. They buy with more trust if they can talk directly to you.
So think seriously to develop all possible ways to create those interactions and give the customers the chance to chat with you directly:
- Display your WHATSAPP NUMBER on Link in bio in Instagram
- Dispay your WHATSAPP NUMBER in your Facebook page
- Add a WHATSAPP CHAT plugin on your website
- Ask your customers to write you to suggest you which contents they need
- Develop any sort of HUMAN INTERACTION
Hope my analysis will help you. Generating 500 euros in two months is not a joke, so it is a very good sign that CONVERSATIONAL MARKETING works.
Ps. UPDATE: Yesterday I received another order on the website but the person contacted me on Instagram Direct Message to finalize it > 112 euro. So the total amount in almost 2 months could be updated in 622 euros.
