How do you change an existing site to WA hosting

I have two websites I am considering changing to WA hosting from the Godaddy hosting I have that will expire next month but I don't want to loose my content and I don't know how to change it. Right now they had /wordpress at the end of them and I don't know if I can change it back to .com and if so how. I am not a technical wiz kid but if given step by step instructions I can follow them. I didn't see a training for this but I could be searching with the wrong terms. I know I really want to change one over but I have run out of steam on the other one at this time so I might wait.

Yes, Carson, am exactly trying my hardest to be successful this time. Figured out name server is fully noted as domain name server with the acronym DNS in my domain manager. There are two spots or more I believe depending how many hosts you desire? ns1. followed by the .com host title. Wow. Think I could just do an article for dummies like me who take more than 30 seconds to understand.

Thank you for the encouragement, now I am faced with the gauntlet of hundreds of themes to choose from, assuming I will find a keyword that will bring just the one I recognize as my own. Or, do I type the DNS 1 and 2 and the unfinished pages from my current domain including header will magically transfer over? Or, starting afresh and select a page number and theme number without hesitation, hoping to understand what the theme will allow me to do? Or, does my 'dumminess' lie with my browser, with not seeing the same window with the same tools that a PC user sees? Been told my 'dumminess' lies in being a Mac user with an incompatible platform.

Thank you for allowing me to be here, still clicking and learning, believing in the better benefits, state of the art service here at WA, fervently hoping I will be successful this time.

Just checking; to the right I see the ability to upgrade and learn the benefits which I already have, an article on Achieve Content $uccess and Wanted: Local Marketers.
Do you see the same? And I just realized am on sundcarrie's page, having a bunch of blogs to read, thank you sundcarrie, think I a following you too. Haven't figured out how to on my site, blog that is, but the same stuff is on the left to continue in the classrooms.

So I will go back to my page, go through my gmail with a bunch of WA mail to read which will tell me to go to another page. It is daunting, learning a new language. Tomorrow is another day.

Thank you so very much, for following me.

Am still trying to follow each of your instructions. Would seem I need the WA name for DNS server to change, 1 and 2.

Hi there Caylynn.. What are you trying to do exactly? You are not a Premium member here at WA, so you cannot host your own domain. Once you are a Premium member you can install as many sites as you want on the WA hosting network. Our hosting platform is state-of-the-art and it can run your entire business. I encourage you to go Premium so that you can utilize it with your own domains.

Need to change my profile name to do this?

No just the nameservers.

Changing over your site from an existing host to WA hosting is highly suggested as you're getting a better service here at WA for Internet marketing and online business. Being able to easily create your sites is HUGE. As the tutorial suggests that @Labman posted below, you will want to back up your wordpress website at Godaddy, then point your domain's DNS to WA hosting servers. Once the change has happened you can:

1 - Create a new website using our Website builder, this essentially creates a Vanilla (blank) install of wordpress.

2 - You then import your site from your backup using the tools suggested in the tutorial

3 - You celebrate a successful migration!

There are many people are at WA including Kyle and Myself who can help answer any questions you have about this. Let us know, we are all here to help!

Thanks I will get started on this as soon as I have time!

Sounds great. Let us know how it goes and if you run into any issues. Talk soon.

Hello Carson how long does migration take, I pointed my webiste last friday with namecheap, I keep checking DNS global propagation checker and it shows only a couple of countries so far with a green tick. Do you think it will take all week?

This depends on the domain registrar that you are with but generally DNS takes less than 12 hours to propagate throughout the world networks. It can be as fast as a few hours, and it can be as slow as 24 hours.

Shouldn't be much longer I wouldn't think Charles!
