FTP access not working. Anyone know why?

I use filezilla and I have always been able to access my site with that.
However, a few days ago I tried accessing it again and I was unable to. It kept getting to the point where it was looking for the directory listing but it never found it. I also tried another FTP program as well as Notepad++ with the same result with both.
So, has something changed that is preventing access? I have not changed any filezilla settings.
