Narrow Down Your Demographic.
Maybe you have realised that narrowing down your demographic for your niche as much as possible is a good idea, and why.
If you have realised this, this is for you. If you don't know why, you soon will. But this is not about the why, so much as the the how. For the why, there are plenty of good folks on here that would be happy to explain it.
In my niche, which is natural health and wellness, it is very easy to offend people, as well as being very easy to get in trouble with the "powers that be", which unfortunately have us (in this niche, especially) by the short and curlies, if you will.
And it is not going to get any better.
We are losing our freedom of speech very quickly, and it is a global thing. It doesn't much matter where you live in the world.
So.
I feel my time may be short here, and I don't want to freak anybody out, but...
What kind of audience do you want?
Are you pandering to people you wouldn't go for coffee with?
The bottom line of what I'm getting at is this (and keep in mind that this will probably will be far less relevant to other niches than the touchier ones, like natural health):
I would rather not spend an hour or two a day answering people who won't be convinced of what I am putting across.
That time is much better spent with people who know what you are about, and are going to engage with you in a positive way, because they are on the same page.
I am still pretty new to this game, but I know what I have learned, albeit in a short span of time.
I also pay a whole bunch of attention to where things in this world are headed, and as much as I hope I am just paranoid, I'm becoming more and more certain that that is not the case.
I, personally, am going to continue to be okay with the possibility of offending a few people, and consider it good ridence.
I am going to continue to sift my potential following in a manner which seperates the wheat from the chaff.
The smart and lighthearted from the sad, dead weight.
Some of us are going to have to learn to be more and more cautious, so as to not get bannished from the internet altogether...
Anyway, I'm sorry if this sounds harsh, but I am not good at pleasing everybody. And I don't feel I have time to learn how to. It seems to me that it is not a time to waste time on people who have made up their minds in the wrong way, and they have. Many of them are self-loathing people who have sold their souls.
In a less urgent time, I would try to be more Christ-like, but they are in His hands. I will politely offend them and spend my efforts focussed on people who want to live, and have a positive legacy, by discovering the meaning and purpose of life by loving themselves and others.
Somebody tell me that's not what it all boils down to.

It's true, especially here in the US, that sharing information about curable health ailments can get you shut down.
Have you ever heard of a book called "Natural Cures, 'They' Don't Want You To Know," by Kevin Trudeau? He was sued by the FDA for stating things about health problems and the methods used to create them as well as remedies on how to heal yourself.

When we consider our demographic, no matter our topic, there are at least two things to consider.
1) We want to attract the people who are searching for solutions.
2) Some Will, Some Won't, So What, NEXT!
This is not a popularity contest.
What other people think of me is none of my business.
I know that at the end of the day, I have done my best to provide my most authentic self.

Yes, I'm sure I have heard of that book. Would be a very interesting read, I'm sure. There is another one I have my eye on, called "Metabolical", by Dr. Robert Lustig. I think it's quite a new book, but I'm sure he's taking some pretty serious heat by now for it...
Ho Ho, honest feelings. You are right though, do not waste your time on the nay sayers. Choose the people you want to talk to and you WILL be successful. Today I had a kick ass day. Everything is just starting to click. I am doing things a bit different and it is working. 2nd month in and I have had 90 hits on my website. Am going to brag tomorrow and write another post. Lol. Laugh and learn. No more Mr nice guy.

It looks to me as if you feel you are constantly having to defend your corner... have I understood that correctly?
I agree with you that our time is best spent with people who know what we are about, and are going to engage with us in a positive way because they are on the same page. The challenge we face in any niche is easily finding the members of that particular niche who have the questions that we are able to answer.

Yes, I was saying that. But I was also alluding to the big corporations who stand to lose if anybody discovers that there is a cure for cancer, and so forth. They own all the media, so I am feeling more and more pressure to shut my cake hole.

Craig, I was laughing at the way you put things, but I agree that big dead corp ses, are in it for the money, and if you can stay on their poison brews for as long a$ your insurance pays up, they like you just fine.
When the Claus Sch Wabs who want their cake, and money. Kill off the little guy's livelihood, except the 2 controllable orientals groups he said.
Where will the Claus Sch Wabs, who own big pharma, get the $..after their brew died off most every one, or the damaged ones are all reliant on the legal Pusher, and logically being the only ones left, also of the preferred 2 groups. Don't pic me, or you'll likely get a schwabb up a dark place.
This is another case of arrested development, and they are more desperate than smart. Meaning it's all coming out into the light.
The wheat is being sifted from the tares as we speak.
Tares look like the wheat but are poisonous.
Tares get theirs, not ours.
Wheat wins.
