I’ve been spending some time reflecting on a powerful concept lately, absorbing the wisdom behind it and thinking about how it applies to both my personal life and my affiliate marketing journey.

There is a classic saying that always hits home for me: "The people who claim to know everything are usually the ones who know nothing at all."

Real growth begins when we drop the ego and look at the three levels of knowledge:

1. What We Know We Know (The Knowns)

These are our proven skills and past experiences. In affiliate marketing, this might be knowing how to write a basic blog post, pick a niche, or navigate the Wealthy Affiliate dashboard. It feels safe and familiar, but if we stay only here, we plateau.

2. What We Know We Don't Know (The Known Unknowns)

These are the gaps in our knowledge that we are aware of. You might say, "I know I don't understand technical SEO yet," or "I know I haven't mastered keyword research."

Recognizing these gaps is a superpower because it gives us a clear roadmap of what to study next. It forces us to stay curious and remain lifelong students.

3. What We Don't Know We Don't Know (The Unknown Unknowns)

This is where the real magic—and the biggest blind spots—happen!

Before starting an online business, many of us didn’t even know concepts like search intent, conversion rate optimization, or affiliate funnels even existed. Life hits us with these blind spots all the time. The only way to uncover these hidden gems is to stay humble, take action, fail fast, and keep learning from others who are further along the path.

Knowledge vs. Wisdom

At the end of the day, knowledge is just knowing—but wisdom is doing.

You can read every tutorial in the world, but until you hit publish, test your links, and apply what you've learned, knowledge remains passive. Action transforms knowledge into true wisdom.
