6 Hours in a Hospital Waiting Room Taught Me a Major Lesson About My Online Business

Dear WA Family,
Yesterday, I spent nearly 6 hours at the hospital (regular check-up). Sitting there for that long gives you a lot of time to observe people—their struggles, their pain, and how precious our health really is.
As I watched everything unfolding around me, my mind started connecting the dots between physical health and the health of our online businesses. I want to share this reflection with you today, hoping it might resonate or give someone the exact spark they need right now.
The Two Types of People (and Patients)
Sitting in that waiting room, I noticed two distinct kinds of people:
- Those who actively prioritize their health: They do regular checkups, eat well, and catch issues early.
- Those who ignore the warning signs: They put off taking care of themselves until a minor issue turns into a major crisis.
When people do get sick, they fall into two categories as patients:
- The Delayed Recoverers: They listen to the doctor's instructions, but they don't follow them properly or consistently.
- The Serious Action-Takers: They take the doctor’s prescription seriously, implement the advice immediately, and heal.

It hit me hard: How are we treating the health of our online business?
When we detect that our business is struggling, do we ignore it, or do we take immediate action to fix it?
I’ll be the first to admit my own mistakes here. I’ve known for a while that I wasn't publishing enough helpful, high-quality content. Yet, I stayed passive, fully aware that neglecting content creation was slowly hurting my business's health.
The same goes for leverage. In today's digital world, tools like social media and AI are right at our fingertips—like modern treatments available to help us grow. Yet, failing to take advantage of them is like refusing the very prescription that could make our business thrive.
Prevention Is Better Than Cure
Some people monitor their health continuously so they never end up in the emergency room. Are we doing the same for our websites, our content schedules, and our marketing strategies?
"Prevention is better than cure" isn't just medical advice—it’s business advice. Identifying a weak spot today saves us from a dying business tomorrow.
At the end of the day, Health is Wealth—in our physical bodies and in our digital businesses. Let's take care of both with equal passion and discipline!

I’d love to hear your thoughts on this perspective:
- When you do a "checkup" on your online business, what is the #1 area you know needs attention right now?
- How do you make sure you don't burn out physically while building your digital empire?
