From Consumer to Creator: My 2-Year Reality Check (And How I’m Fixing It)

Dear WA Family,
I want to share a major shift I’m making in my mindset right now: I am choosing to become a Creator rather than just a Consumer.
1. The Trap of Endless Consumption
We all know continuous learning is essential for success. But here is my painful truth: for the past two years, I’ve been constantly consuming content without creating much of anything in return. My bad!
It’s so easy to trick ourselves into thinking we’re being productive just because we’re learning, reading, or researching. But learning without action doesn't grow a business.
2. Remembering Who I Am: A Creator
I somehow forgot—or completely neglected—the core reason I’m here: I am a CREATOR. My job is to serve people and build value.
When I took an honest inventory recently, the numbers shocked me:
- My Website: It’s been over 2 years since I published a single blog post.
- My Regional YouTube Channel: Over 2 years without uploading a video.
- My Facebook Page: Set up years ago and left completely untouched.

Seeing it written out like that was a tough pill to swallow, but it was the wake-up call I needed.

3. Watching the "Time Thieves"
I also realized I need to be far more intentional about what I consume.
You all know how it goes: you hop onto YouTube just to take a quick 10-minute break or watch one tutorial... and suddenly, you look at the clock and 3 hours have vanished into thin air! (LOL, we've all been there, right?)
4. The New Focus: Creating Real Value
No more excuses. Moving forward, my priority is crystal clear: create helpful, problem-solving, and valuable content consistently. Period. Less scrolling, more building.
Let’s Talk!
I’d love to hear how you manage this balance in your own daily routine:
- Have you ever caught yourself trapped in "consumption mode" instead of building?
- What’s your #1 rule or trick to limit distractions and force yourself to start creating?
Drop a comment below—I’d love to hear your thoughts, advice, or your own stories!
God Bless,
Your Friend,
Paul
