When writing posts in wordpress, in order to get ranked, do you need to fill out the SEO title, SEO description and SEO keyword fields?

Title: Description:

Thanks for the reply merlynmac. How do I do that? I’ve been following the training, but don’t recall doing anything like that. Is there a tutorial in classrooms perhaps?

I use the All in One SEO plugin and I have it set to rewrite titles. For example post title will be rewritten according to this: %post_title% | %blog_title% so the metadata will be “Post Title | Blog Title”. An example would be “The New DJI Mavic 2 | Mavic Maniacs”. All in one fills it in automatically for me basing it off my post’s title and my site title.

I have that too and it looks like all of those settings are the same for me. However, when I look at my posts themselves in WordPress in those fields I see no keywords, no description and no title. Is it supposed to have info there?

I have to ask...did you enable it?

Haha! That's ok. It's always good to check the most obvious. It says the plugin is active? And in the rewrite titles section it is checked as enabled

Hmm...can you provide one of your post URLs?

I’m not seeing the meta data either. Log into your site dashboard, navigate to posts and click on one to edit it. If you scroll to the bottom do you have an SEO section? If not scroll to the top and click on screen options and make sure SEO is checked.

Ok. I do see the SEO section on the bottom. It’s blank aside from the title.

Thanks for your help. I'm going to try and go through the plugin's troubleshooting section. Thanks for confirming that it was not working though.

Add a description and publish the changes. Reload the post and see if the meta data is there. If not we’ll need to double check your seo settings.

So I added a description and published the changes. The preview is showing in the preview snippet window. How else can I view the meta data?

The description made it in:

<!-- All in One SEO Pack 2.10.1 by Michael Torbert of Semper Fi Web Design[328,387] -->
<meta name="description" content="May the Odds Be in Your Favor If you walk into (most) casinos in Las Vegas and pass all the shiny, flashing lights of the hundreds of slot machines, you will">

I seem to have found the way to autogenerate the title and description! I toggled the autogenerate setting off and on and updated my settings and it worked. Thanks again for all your help! I really appreciate it!

I'm glad you're all set!

You should or at least have the SEO plugin setup to add this information automatically.
