My first blog - the ups and the struggles

Good morning wealthy affiliate fam! I am writing my first wa blog post this morning! So far so good, I have gone premium and created 2 sites. I'm still pretty new to this but I am catching on! Id like to share with you some of the milestones as well as some of the struggles. And of course I'd like to ask your opinion!

The good news is...

I have both of my sites layouts pretty much set up and how I want them. I have given feedback to other sites so I can in turn receive feedback. Most of it was very positive with the exception of a few minor suggestions. One person didn't necessarily like my color scheme on one of my sites. Another peraon did. When it comes to feedback like this you have to take it as just a suggestion and then decide what you want for YOUR site.

I have signed up as an Amazon associate and have incorporated relative product links in each of my blog posts as well as separate product pages. My FAVORITE is creating a custom ad where you are able to pick 4 products to display. This will give my readers options in this specific niche. For example, one of my blog posts talks about yeti cups, and I have advertised 4 different yeti cups that are just different colors.

I have created a Facebook page in which I plan to market my different websites and the products they sell. I will be inviting my friends to like it soon as soon as I feel I have enough content on the Facebook page.

I have also signed up for Google + and done a couple of posts to get the word out on that platform!

The struggles...

Going through the training has been great. However I noticed some of the the training videos were hard for me to find exactly where they were within the platform. For example the one about setting up site emails, the video already starts within the site manager which I didn't know how to find at first. The way I solved this problems was asking the community, and they were very helpful!

Some of my struggles that I will be facing soon are getting enough traffic to my site and getting my Google rankings up. What methods have you used to get enough traffic to your site? Besides SEO and putting your posts on Google + what have you done to get your rankings up?

I've got to make those first sales! Amazon will drop you if you don't start making sales within a certain amount of time. What have you done to ensure sales? How did it feel when you made that first sale?

Hopeful...

I remain hopeful for the outcome of my sites and I look forward to continuing this journey! I guess my last question is does anyone else work full time and do this that has been successful doing both?

Hi Stefanie.
You are doing really well and have accomplished a lot in a short period of time so well done.
Keep following the training and all the rest will fall into place.
Gail

You sure have gotten a LOT accomplished so far, congrats and well done!

I've been an Amazon affiliate since 2007 and I have to tell ya, it's the EASIEST affiliate program to convert to sales. People simply trust Amazon now and Amazon is SO good at converting the traffic we send to sales (AND additional sales).

Your SEO will all come together if you keep using Jaaxy to find the best low-competition keywords you can for you posts - and then keep cranking out that content.

Twitter and Facebook and are ok for traffic - Google+ is great for getting additional love from Google - but if you want to help your traffic while you wait for your SEO to kick in, you should think about trying Pinterest. Just a thought.

You're doing great!
