Steven's SWAG and GGG April Report

Another month, another update. It is amazing how quick things go. Not just the month or the time or the amount of work being done, but also how quick the weather changed or how quick the environment turned more normal from very icy. Just look at the banner on top of this blog! Now compare it to my February update:

Okay, I didn't manage to make the picture at the exact same angle, but you see what I mean, right? It's amazing how quickly that went too. I mean, it took just 1 weekend of 16+ degrees to lose all the snow on the picture. It took another 2 weeks for the ice to disappear from the lake.

I am wondering how it will look like in the end of May, it might be yet another total transformation for that picture, so watch this space!

Anyway, onwards with my report. Last report was delayed by two weeks, so now I wanted to be a bit more on-time with reporting, but the result is that things haven't changed much. I also set the goals the same for the April and May month.

I have by now reduced my work efforts on the SWAG project, until a bit later, so that I can concentrate on my traffic gaining website first. I do however still do some work for the bootcamp site as well, just to keep things running.

More Reviews

I noticed that I have a rather large amount of normal articles versus reviews on my Cat Habits site. Now that I am starting to see organic traffic but no sales yet, I realised that the ratio reviews to articles is way too low.

I think I have about 10 reviews and my website has well over 160 blogs. So 10 out of 160 means 150 other blogs and that gives a ratio of 1 in 15.

A review site would probably have a ratio as high as 1 in 3, but with this site I could safely stay within the 1 in 5 ratio instead. So this is going to be a focus for May month and onwards for the cat habits site.

I am also going to diversify from only Amazon to also promoting other networks and product sites.

It's not the same with the bootcamp site, because there we actually try to promote Wealthy Affiliate as main product. I do however already have promotions there too for other products and services through shareasale etc.

Hi Steven,

Bill

Happy to hear that I inspire people!

Keep it going and the best wishes to you too for May.

Steven

Great update! Can't believe the changes in such a short time span.

Steven, This is great progress, keep going forward. Congrats!

Great update, Steven. That's quite a lot of work. Thanks for sharing.

I can Ser why 24 hours in a day is not enough for WA. Thanks for sharing.

I agree, 24 hours is never enough. haha. We humans want to achieve so much or explore or see. There is barely enough time for everything and we need to make hard choices on what we can or cannot do.

Great job noticing the low ratio of reviews! I'll be as you start to crank those out you'll see some sales start to trickle in. Keep us in the loop Steven!

Thanks Nathaniell!

Both me and my wife are hoping that it will show results now that we got the traffic. There is actually 50 or so traffic each day on that site today and the line has only be going upwards (13 december, 23 feb, 33 march, 40-50 april).

I have started cranking out more reviews now. My wife has upped the game on social media (added facebook to the mix).

Steven

Good job. you are doing well.-shirley

Thanks, Steve,

It's funny how when we write a blog we initially think it is great, but when we go back over it 2 or 3 days later we can see how not so great it is and how much more improvement needs to be done to get it up to scratch.

This is what I find so I am pleased you mentioned improving existing content because I think that is one of the major points along with titles. I also now realise how important titles are. You can have the best content in the world but if the title is not attractive then you can kiss the reader goodbye.

Correct Brad!

That's why it is important to go back there and update. I don't know if I would update a title so easily and I never update a permalink btw (be careful with updating titles as they usually also update the permalink I thought?)

I also recently learned here on WA from someone that you can better ADD content instead of remove / edit existing content.

It probably is no problem to edit existing content if the blog has barely any rank yet, but as soon as it has gained a proper ranking you want to keep going up and not down.

Hmm that what you said about title sounds interesting. Maybe I should put some time into that part as well. I've never really bothered optimizing that. Usually I just leave it be with the keyword embedded and that is it.
Got any advice?

Steven

I am just going to create new posts out of editing old posts and then create BRAND NEW, EXCITING, SPECTACULAR, EXHILARATING, TO DIE FOR titles.....

Not sure how that worked, hehe!!!

hahaha.. well tell me what the results are after that ;)

Will do

shows progress, keep it going
