Day 63 and 64 (today) 90-Day Plan
I'm back!
That may not sound very important to you, but it sure is to me. Lats week was a productive week but not a productive WA week.
I completed our daughter's and our federal and state tax returns. Just finished ours this morning. Completed an onboarding plan and did my background research for an interview I had on Friday. Wrote an interview thank you followup email that I sent this morning. I won't hear anything from this for about a week and a half or two weeks. No one seems to have a sense of urgency except for me.
And I completed and delivered a complex document due at the end of last week. A lot just not a lot of WA.
Training Update & More
I have completed Certification Course 3 and Bootcamp Phase 3 lessons 5 and 6. And, because I'm not getting much traffic or any conversions, I been giving a lot of thought about how to turn the website to a laser focus on a specific audience. I think I have a lot of good posts but nothing that really taps a specific group of people on the shoulder and says Psst. Look at this. Read this it will help you.
That in turn drives traffic to a WA review that is specific to that audience. That's my focus this for writing this week.
Writing
I am a little behind on my writing including SWAG for month 2. Only published 4 posts on my site plus the post I authored for a friend's site. Just under half of the 12 in the assignment.
Sorry, Kyle but for me personally my audience focus has not been strong enough to focus even a small part of my website. However, writing just for the sake of writing makes a site with a lot of words adding up to nothing much. Certainly, no conversions.
People who have look at my site say nice things about it and the content which I like. But it's time to be brutally honest- where the rubber hits the road. No sales so not good enough - yet.
I do think that I can have a core of content (keyword focused) and then a series of posts for a specific audience and maybe even more than one audience.
For example, 4 or 5 posts and a WA review addressing retired people. Another 4 or 5 posts and an edited WA review speaking to people working but who want to create a second income, Another 4 or 5 posts talking to people who realize they haven't built a retirement plan and now are thinking about how to add to what they have done for retirement. What do you think?? Does this make sense?
Ranking
I have been spending time keeping up with posts and other WA community activities. I have achieved a rank of 190 and now getting many more people following me. Nice but time not spent writing, working on my website, or working through training. I need to re-evaluate if this is time well spent.
Thanks
For everyone who put up with my ranting last week thank you.
I was feeling like many of others have felt: working many many hours and not seeing any results. And, for those who don't know me many of my comments were tounge-in-cheek and not serious. This is important as I've seen many in the community get very upset and really rant at other people. Not a lot, but enough. I understand their frustration. The ranting doesn’t help anyone as far as I'm concerned.
Which is why taking some time to work on other tasks last week was good for me. I feel a bit refreshed and ready to get going again.
Please send your comments and suggestions.

Your idea for targeting audience makes sense to me. It's something I need to improve upon as well. As Snoopy says...we just have to keep looking up.

After sorting out tax returns, it must feel particularly exciting continuing with the WA tasks. I think it's a very sensible approach to target a different audience with different posts. That's the best way to find out what works and what doesn't. The result can be completely surprising. But that's one of the exciting aspects of affiliate marketing.
Sometimes we just need to step back and take a deep breath. You know now what you need to do. You already offered a few ideas. Getting it out of your head is the first step. Now you can get it down in print.
We all get frustrated at times. It also takes time and a whole heap of social media promotion to get traffic to start with.
Hence Kyles focus on month 3 of the SWAG challenge.
Mastering social media has been the key to my traffic.
Pinterest not Facebook but I will implement Kyles ideas with that this month and see what happens.
Just keep on going. You’re posts are great.
With Grace and Gratitude

Yes it makes sense and see what you are doing. Writing posts for different audiences but it is easier to be successful when you target one niche. That is not to say I’ve got mine right yet.
Who I think I’m writing for are not high up on the list of my demographics in Google.!
Thanks, I understand.
I think trying to "sell" WA is different that say selling microwave ovens.
The microwave target audience is clear - people who need/want microwave ovens and you can disaggregate that pretty easily into people who will spend under $100, $100-$250, $250-$500 etc. Or people who want over stove mounted versus those who want to put the microwave on a table.
For selling WA we have to be able to get into the psyche of their needs, yes. Reasons might be: I need a second income. I need to feel needed. I needed to feel that I can master this new thing - being online. It hits a different motivation to close a sale than the microwave example.
hmmmm
Thanks for letting me think this through here.. This may be helpful but not quite sure how yet. ;)

Hi Steve
I'm right there with you on several points you listed. My site gets comments, not much traffic, emails seem to be consuming a great deal of time, life is happening around me, and at times I feel like I'm just holding on...other times I feel like I'm unstoppable..finding a healthy balance is required.
Glad to know I'm not alone. Thank you.
Steve
