I have a checkerboard of images and text that look great on Desktop but don't adapt well on mobile. How can I adjust mobile only without affecting the desktop? I am using Astr
Unfortunately, sometimes if you get everything aligned perfectly in desktop, it won't always be perfect in mobile. In fact, it may look wonky on other sized desktops, ipads, etc devices. There is no one single screen format, so you must always keep that in mind when designing your page. Go for simple layouts.
My main question to you though, is, did you align the images manually, or did you use a "column" block or other custom block in WordPress? Using columns, galleries, or other blocks designed to give you the "checkerboard" look will probably give you better and more mobile friendly results than manually coding or manually aligning images.

What is the smartest way to transfer an existing blog to a new domain? (It's a slightly more unusual situation- read more below)

I really depends on a lot of things. Copy/Pasting is not the best idea. Google will think that your new WordPress blog is a ripoff of your old blog. They won't know it's you on both sites, so they won't rank the new one.
If you do not have much content on the site and it's relatively new, then copy/paste is fine though. Over time, Google will start to ignore your old blog. If this is the situation though, you should consider just starting over with a new blog, since there's not much to salvage from the old one.
If you have a large blog on Weebly, you will need a professional to help you port it over to WordPress. It's not a simple process since Weebly and WordPress do not "speak the same language". You have to translate it basically. Depend on the size of your blog and if it's making money, this may or may not be worth the cost to you.
You can definitely try it yourself, but you need to decide if it's worth the time investment to do so.
In that case, my recommendation would be to start over. You can use the same topic if it's your true passion, or you can take this as an opportunity to pick something more suitable based on what you learn here in Wealthy Affiliate.

If your blog in created with WordPress, you can point your nameservers to WA and have it hosted here.
its not. it's on Weebly. Also, I don't want to move the whole domain. I just want to move the blog portion. the rest of the website is my service based business.
that is what I was thinking since all the content needs to be edited. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't a different way I was not aware of.
