3 step strategy to curb negative blogging thoughts

I have been feeling overwhelmed.
I started this blog out of pure necessity when Covid hit and I'll be truthful here: I ate up all those blogging guru's promises about making thousands within the first 3-6months.
I thought to myself, this is my way out of financial distress as my current business got hit hard and my future felt unknown.
I've learned enough now to realize that success doesn't come that fast for most. (If it did for you consider yourself lucky).
I've realized that learning and building an affiliate site means hours on hours of work with zero instant gratification besides hitting that Publish button a few times a week. the gratification comes later.

3 step strategy to curb negative blogging thoughts
When I feel overwhelmed I have some survival mode techniques that helps me push through while lowering my stress and anxiety. I'd like to share them here with the WA community.- Focus on bite size activities: I recently felt like I was failing. I know I'm not stopping so in order to push through the negative thoughts I focused on actionable steps that I know have a positive influence. For example, making sure I still write 2 posts / week and I share 1-2 blog posts to my FB page daily. I also make sure I have a few fresh pins every week on Pinterest.
- Go back to the training: when I feel most overwhelmed I like going back to the WA training. It can really be about anything but the new information allows me to reframe my thinking and give me extra push.
- Take a break: this doesn't mean derail from your to do list. Instead sit back and do something that is relaxing to you. I like listening to crime podcasts and watching comedies on TV. Whatever your go to thing is, do it guilt free for an hour l, even if it's right within prime blog working hours. Writing on the brink of burn out won't get you to the finish line faster.
The only way to fail is to quit.
I just read the blog post by StratosK who shares how it took him almost 1.5years before seeing consistent traffic. This past month he made over $4,000!
I hope it will assure others like it did me that even if my blog has not retained any traction in these first 6 months, it doesn't mean it won't succeed in its own time.
I hope to see all of you on the side. You know that place where we have made our first commission and feel more confident about the path ahead.
