What does it mean to have my web site indexed by Google.

Google has indexed my web site but I am not ready for this achievement. My site is far from finished. How can I remove it or make it invisable to Google until it is ready.

Yes , don't do it! Your site needs time before it starts to rank in Google so keep it indexed and let it mature. This will take a couple of months so u have plenty of time. Indexing is how u are goign to be able to get to page 1 of Google. Google indexes your site so that eventually it will start to show up in searches. But like I said it takes time to mature.
