My New Method of Writing
I've always loved writing but time has always been an issue for me. Between working full time and doing other normal family stuff, I hardly feel like sitting down at night after everyone has went to bed to start producing new material. My energy and focus are not my strong points that time of night. I decided to download a talk-to-text app on my phone, where you speak and it types it all out for you. Unfortunately the app I downloaded didn't work very well. It was mixing up the words and skipping some altogether. Very disappointing. However, while editing one of my posts in WordPress from my phone, I decided to to simply try the speaker on the keypad of my phone and holy wow it worked like a charm! It got 99%of the words correct and all I really had to do was go back and punctuate.
Yesterday, while working at home from my computer (I do data entry type stuff and a fair amount of copying and pasting so there's not a ton of thinking involved lol.) I was thinking about my next post for my website and decided I'd try using my phone again and just talk to myself while working. I finished almost my entire 1,000+ word article doing it this way. When everyone went to bed last night I spent about a half an hour finishing up my article, editing it, and adding some pictures. Normally, I would have killed a couple of hours just typing it up. This will be the way I do a lot of my "writing" from now on. It saves me so much time and I don't have to worry about losing ideas that I am thinking about because I can just grab my phone and start gabbing lol.

I LOVE this. I know this technology has existed, but I have not explored it yet. I type all day, right now. I think I could save some time and a few keyboards if I could make this work for me.

Cool trick, maybe I would give that a shot. I have been using a method where you cover your monitor with a newspaper and just write, no corrections, or punctuations until you uncover and edit. It does allow you to do a lot more writing faster.
That seems like a neat trick to try too! When I'm typing I'm constantly fixing things as I go along. May have to try this when I do type.

This is a great idea! I'd have to do a search and replace afterwards for all the "um's" and "yeah's". Great for people who have mobility or vision problems, too.
