Men can multi-task

Have you ever been told that MEN are no good at multi tasking. Well i am going to dispell that myth....well for me anyway.

Firstly i will tell you what businesses i am involved with then i will give you my honest opinion on myself which some may relate to or not.

Businesses

  • Photo ID and Visitor Management Systems
  • Commercial Utilities Introducer *
  • Bedroom Designer (wardrobes)
  • WA Affiliate Marketing

Hobbies

  • Musician (Drummer)
  • Gigging
  • Ten pin bowling (given up now)
  • Snooker (havent played in years)

Now i dont know if that is a lot but let's break it down step by step

Photo ID systems. I have been in that industry for 25 years working for a company helping build their business from £500k to £13m and then in 2014 the sold out and i got nothing. I did carry on myself and still have a website and look after a few customers but not really a business that i could retire with as i lost interest.

As an introducer to commercial utilities i just need to find businesses who want to save money on their gas/electric, pass on their details and the rest is done by the company i introduce them to. They do all the selling and i get comm for as long as they stay with them year on year. Sounds easy but its not which is why i am building a site to get leads/referrals.

Bedroom designer - this is my main income producing job. I actually hate it but dont have a choice at present. Yes i do get some satisfaction but have to listen to a meglamaniac regional sales manager who is only interested in ££££££ and not the designer sales.

WA - 2 months in and learning so much clever and interesting stuff about the internet that i wish i had learnt years ago. I love the fact that there are real people like me out there going through the same shit (sorry!) But one thing i have learned is never give up. There is hope for all of us no matter what age one is.

I said i would be honest in my opinion of myself...well here goes:

I always believed i knew best and did not listen or take advice. I believed it was easy to multi task and didnt know what all the fuss was about. I always thought I could do it alone. I was aragant and stupid because everyone, no matter who they are can learn from others. WA has so far taught me that we can learn and implement if we listen. We dont have to take advice but once we have the information we can analyse and implement if we feel comfortable in doing so.

As much as you need to work hard at his, you must not forget the reasons why?

I have hobbies and probably Music is the best of my hobbies, but I also like to do other things, like snooker, cinema, be active in my childrens (adults now) lives and we need to have time to do those things and not be a workaholic or workabeee. Divide our time properly and we can do it all. YES ALL!

I was STUPID!

Now the beginning of this blog was about multi-tasking and yes we all can MT but is it a good thing or Bad? I think it's a Good thing BUT, and this is an important but.....we need to be organised. I'll say it again, WE NEED TO BE ORGANISED.

Some people might use an old fashioned notebook, others might use their smart phone of Tablet or PC, it doesn't matter what method you use so long as you are organised.

Multi-tasking is not easy but if you write down what you need to do (TO-DO List) then you won't forget to do it.

Now that I have admitted I was an IDIOT I can hopefully progress to achieve what I set out to do and that is earn an online income and help others whilst doing it.

WORK SMART - NOT HARD

LISTEN, LEARN AND IMPLEMENT.

Have a good day all.

Paul

We must also be aware of the pitfall: jack of all trade, master of none.

Nice Post thanks!

Wayne

It's great to have lots of things going on but I agree that the way to success is focusing on one at a time. :)

Thanks Mark.

lots to do

Always!

I may have a lot of irons in the pot, but I try to accomplish one thing at a time. I review daily how I organize these activities.

Thanks for sharing.
