"Sometimes a person has to go a very long distance out of his way to come back a short distance correctly." - Edward Albee

I'm feeling this idea lately, for sure. My WA mentor (who is AWESOME, incidentally) has confirmed what my gut has been telling me: a niche that I would like to be developing, but only thought of way after starting here, is more viable than the one I'm currently building out.

I think that I'm gonna have to switch gears, and apply what I've learned to this new niche. I can certainly continue to write articles for my likely-penniless passion project (and for the other shot in the dark niches) and see what happens..but action follows intention.

On a related note, I have a second new niche idea that's also probably winner winner chicken dinner, but I need to learn about drop shipping and e-commerce before diving in. And to do that, I need to wait until I move back to the US (to incorporate and do all the business end stuff). Unfortunately I'm stuck in Asia for a few more years!

Hi Stephanie, put all your effort into the first niche. Irv.

Take advantage of all the people here at WA. Have you put a web page, a post or site up for comments or feedback yet?

Since you're relatively new, and I gather a little "gun shy", you may need a little coercion to let others see what you're working on. If you get some feedback now, before you get too far into building out your site, you might get some input from other members that may help you decide in which direction to go.

Hi- thanks for the comment! I have gotten feedback on my other sites, but will definitely get plenty for the new niche!

Nice to know I'm not alone in second guessing my niche. Thanks for sharing. Debbie

Haha, I'm glad I'm not the only one, too! It's part of the peril of being a "mile wide, inch deep" kinda person - there's a ton of stuff I COULD write about, so it's not always obvious where to start or what will continue to motivate content after a year or two.

Try to put everything into one good niche idea before diversifying Stephanie

That's part of the process Sporkypie. Keep it up.

Always go with your gut.. never let's you down. Sorry I can't help but I'm sure lots of others will be able to help you. Cant you spend the time in Asia learning About it.. is there a particular reason you need to wait so.long till your back in USA To learn??

Hi Nicky, thanks for the comment! I can definitely spend my time here learning about drop shipping. It's just easier to incorporate and do the business stuff when you're living in the US.
