Losing hope

Although, I know the topic itself is discouraging. But what can I do this is what has happened to me in the last 2-3 days of working here at WA.

Due to Poor Government strategy here in India, most of the Indians have gone jobless in the last 3 years. So was I. I should have not written my country name, but it is a true fact.

After long online research at internet about how make money online I realised that most of the sites are not legit. But then I came across a blog which informed me about a site which not only teaches people about how to build a website on your niche but also has a community 24*7 available to help out when anyone gets stuck. It has a certification course which provides guidance on how create content on any niche, generate traffic and monetize that site. AND it was none other than Wealthy Affiliate.

With great enthusiasm I joined Wealthy Affiliate. Within one week I learnt a lot about a subject which I never dreamt of. I completed 2 Levels which made me clear about choosing a niche, building free siterubix domain, creating keyword rich content, buying your own domain and then transfering free siterubix domain to the domain I bought. Everything was going well. I have my own domain bestbefit.com and i have two keyword rich content in it.

In Level 3, though I have not completed it, WA has explained how to monetize our website. I have gone through few of its lessons. Joining affiliate network and affiliate program like amazon then creating your personal link was pretty much new to me but I learnt.

Now after learning so much here at WA and completing so many tasks within few days, I dont know why I am losing hope as to what would happen to my website. Will it get ranked in search engines, what are other keywords I should write on, will I be able to make money online. The biggest threat is that there are so many websites on every niche and there is a team of experts on every websites created so how my website will get ranked.

These threats are the impedements on my moving forward. I know I have not completed a month even. But at this point I dont have any vision as to what I should do to move forward.

There might be several who get stuck at this point. Here at WA there are several motivational blogs, videos, success stories I have gone through. But they dont work anymore.

I feel myself to be at the place where I was earlier JOBLESS. Kindly provide any assistance as I know this place is a community where we help each other, what I should do next to keep moving on as I dont want to LOSE HOPE.

Hi Sourbha, Just chiming in and hope that I don't offend you, Just a few observations and suggestions.
To create any business takes time, the beauty if doing business online is that there is a low barrier to entry, the caveat is that it takes time to create an online presence, it takes work on our part when we first start out no body knows us we change that by creating content and sharing it on our websites or through social media our what ever other vector we choose to share our content on.

The great thing about WA is that it is a step by step approach, follow the system and the results will come. It can be that simple.
One of the problems with online marketing is that the folks promoting it make it sound so simple, the truth is that like everything on life it takes work.

Being here at WA we are ahead of the field, One can start out creating that first web site it can lead onto many things, there are so many possibilities for us to build on using the resources here at WA.

Thing is that it will not happen in a matter of weeks. That is one of the culture shocks that most of us go through.

Once we realize that we can crack on and start creating an online presence that will bring life changing results.

Looking at your site you could as a start point go back to the training , start working through it but more importantly start too do and implement the tasks, lock things into place then move on.
Start creating content on a regular basis, do you use site content? It is a wonderful resource for creating content.

Step back and think about what you are going to promote and sell, what products and services are going to resonate with the audience you are reaching out to.
In your niche where are folks spending money, do some research.

You can do this, just follow along, to start out, when you build a little confidence start building some marketing strategies. You will be able to do this as your skill set increases.

No promotion no sell = no money.

Just some thoughts.

Looking at WA, go to your profile and write a little about yourself share your goals and aspirations it can help folks to engage with you and understand what you are trying to acheive.
Add an image to your profile, let's us know who you are.

Most importantly keep going, I think it was Kyle who has said it takes 3 to 6 months to get some traction. Remember you are building your business your future.
Think of it in terms of doing a university degree, average time 4 years plus just to get to the starting line of your career, as you have mentioned with regards to your country even that would not guarantee employment.

We can all get down to it at times, being here in WA we do have support both technical and also on that emotional and motivational level also the resources to create something special.

By the looks you are going very well just a matter of tweaking and enhancing what you are doing, you can do it.

Best wishes, just reach out if you get stuck.

I don't think I'm going to say anything that hasn't already been said but I thought I'd reply anyway.

First of all - the competing sites may have experts, but many of them aren't personal in their approach - that's why your About page must include your personal story about why you created the site and ideally have a photograph of you (your profile here at WA does not... so I'm guessing your website doesn't either).

Secondly, the big advantage you will have over the other sites is that you will be regularly producing content that ranks by following the guide in the training. Google loves good content! Offer your visitors quality content and they will, slowly but surely, come to you for more. You can help them along that journey by posting links to your new articles on the social media accounts that you will create for your niche site. Half of my traffic is coming from Twitter right now.

Thirdly - COMPLETE THE TRAINING! The later levels really get into the awesome details of promoting your brand and driving traffic to your site.

Welcome to the awesome WA journey - don't make the mistake I did two years ago and give up before you've got anywhere. Remember - it's a slow-burn journey of MONTHS before you start to see real results. This isn't because Kyle is trying to get you to subscribe for months - it's because that's how long it takes for your traffic to slowly build and for you to create enough quality content for your visitors to spend more time on your website on.

To be blunt, you're not going to make many sales or keep many visitors if you only have a handful of pages on your site. :)

That's why every lesson in the certification course find a reason for you to create a new piece of content! :D

Half of your traffic comes from Twitter? And I don't like social media? Wake up Bryan!!!

Lol - but to be totally transparent, my most recent post on Twitter bombed (barely any engagement at all). To be fair, I have found that the time of day you post a tweet has a HUGE impact upon its effective reach.

But yes, you really should use social media. I'm not a big fan of it to be honest but I can't ignore its effectiveness. One of my goals this week is to get my head around Pinterest - apparently that's made AMAZING changes to people's traffic.

I'm just trying to figure out how to cover everything. I've seen apps that post your stuff to social media automatically, do you know if any of that is worthwhile?

I tried them for a little while on one of my personal sites and another for a client but I found that because they didn't tailor the hashtags for the target platform, the reach and engagement were limited (if not dead). I abandoned them in favour of manual posting in the end.

It's much easier just to copy and paste the URL for your post in each platform with a message tailored for each one.

With Twitter and Instagram, for example there are two main factors to success: the time of day and the hashtags you use.

From what I understand, with Pinterest it's all about engaging with group boards and building a following.

With Facebook... well, that seems to be dependant on how many followers you have on your page or how much you're willing to spend. :-/

Oh well, I got dragged kicking and screaming into the smart phone arena. Guess that's the way it'll be with social media too! Thanks for the info.
Bryan

Sounds like you are doing great already. Don't worry about competing websites. It's all about finding the correct keywords. Follow the training on low hanging fruit keywords and keep writing more blog posts. You will soon be on the fist page with some of your work and start to see a little money coming in.

Hello friend!! First off, congrats on your very own website!! I know it's hard when you seem like nothing is happening. BUT DON'T GIVE UP! It sounds like you need to market/advertise your website. Get it in front of people, make it known what your website exists!

Also, looking at you website(which is VERY nice and feels very positive and welcoming) I don't see anything on it that'll make you money. My question to you is how is that website going to make you money? Other than great advise about ways to help someone feel good there isn't anything of monetary value on it.

You're from India. INDIA!! India is known the world over for tons of ancient and traditional medicines/practices and whatnot. You can keep the articles about getting healthy, looking and feeling great and explain how to do so the "Indian way". You can get into Aryuveda, it's history, benefits and diet according to vata, pitta, kapha. Sell things in that area.
Also you can get into hair! Everyone knows how the women of Indian descent are known for their long dark thick hip(or longer) length hair...how do they do it? What products are used and how? I'm a female and I'd definitely be interested in that!! Sell items in that area! With your niche.. your options are ENDLESS! True, the "get and be fit" is popular..but you're from a whole different culture and have LOTS of knowledge that the world has no idea of! Combine them! I hope this wasn't too long and I hope I've helped spark something!

Best of luck, well wishes and success!!

Hello. First I would like to welcome you to WA. Secondly, I think you are being exceptionally hard on yourself way too soon. You haven't even gotten through the course yet. Before determining you have lost hope, you should at least get through the entire training. Once you do that, I feel you will gain more confidence in yourself and your site.

You have made the best decision to join as a Premium member. Having said that, you seem you are looking at videos and training but you have determined already they no longer work for you. If you go into this with a defeated attitude, you are going to lose the battle before you get started. Keep looking at videos and training. Do you read the top 10 blogs? There is a lot of inspiration as well as great training right there.

Here are my additional suggestions:

1. Complete the entire training. By the time you get through it, your site will look better and better.

2. By using the keywords, your site will rank - use Jaaxy to help you determine those keywords. Don't compare yourself to others. Think about those topics that can help others in your niche and what you can write to help them.

3. Are you using social media to help gain traffic? If not, do so. There is so much to learn using social media.

4. Are you looking at all the training that happens on Friday nights given by Jay? If you cant watch the live version because of the time difference, look at his trainings in classroom. You will learn a lot from the trainings and you will understand how to make your site what it needs to gain traffic and be successful.

5. Relax...this is not a get rich quick situation. It takes a while to gain traffic then the money will come. You have to put the work in to get the outcome you're looking for in the end.

6. Enjoy this experience. Don't compare yourself to others. No matter what your niche is, you should concentrate on being the best and outshine the rest.

Remember, this community is here to help and encourage you. You can do this!

I hope this information helps you feel more encouraged.

Wishing you all the best.

Yvette

You must continue to write quality content. That is first and foremost. The average time to monetize a well written blog for a steady income is 12 to 15 months. You will make some sales before then, but for a steady income that would be about average.

Write like you are speaking to a friend. People don't want to read a blog that sounds like an encyclopedia. They want to have a trusting connection to a person not to a faceless company.

Don't try to monetize every post. People don't want to see ads on every page. They want to know how much you care about them not about their money. Only in giving content and building trust can you ever hope to build a business. People often give up after 3 to 4 months. At that point you haven't even begun to build traffic yet.

There is no get rich quick on the net or in life. With work and time here you can become wealthy, but you have to put in the time and the effort. If you quit what will you have? NOTHING! You'll be back to looking for the next thing that sounds good. Don't make that mistake. You've already made a good start continue the journey.

You can't get to the top of a mountain by stopping halfway up even if you go halfway up 100 times you never get to the top. You are the only thing standing in your own way. Get moving upwards and climb the mountain. The reward is at the top where few people make the journey. If it were easy everyone would be rich.

Success is available. You just have to want it more than you want failure. The choice is yours. Make the right one.
