Hello all!

Question, i'm hearing great things about the Amazon Affiliate program, I haven't made it there yet, but it's on my to-do list. My concern is this, my website/ni

Absolutely, Amazon is ideal. The good thing about Amazon is that people trust them, and the people who visit Amazon are buyers, unlike people who search Google, who are researchers. Google searchers seek information; Amazon searchers have their credit card at hand!

Here is the beauty of Amazon. Let's say they visit your link and come to one of these items relating to cats: http://amzn.to/1847sBF (not an affiliate link...lol)

You won't make much selling an item between $10 or $14 - BUT your prospect who has reached Amazon via your link decides to browse the site and ends up purchasing that Coffee Machine that she has always wanted to buy as a gift for her family. That coffee machine costs $395 - and guess what, you make the commission on that sale. ~ Jude

Great Advice! And super link as well, (i may buy one now lol)
DO you know how long, i guess my "cookies" stay attached to that person that clicked my link?

The "cookie" is good for 24 hours. One out of four people when they shop at amazon buy more than one item. The 24 hours starts ticking from the time they first arrive on the site. ~ Jude

You have to promote products initially-work as an "affiliate marketer"
There are two options

1. Either you can promote the products in Amazon which are related to your niche and earn commissions when someone buys a product through your referral.
2. You can make and sell your own products related to your niche through Amazon.

Everyone here would start out with the first option i.e., to promote products from Amazon. But later after establishing the website, when they want to expand the site they move on to the option two.
There's no necessity to sell products.

You are correct in that you would simply place an Amazon link on your website directing your visitors to a product sold on Amazon. You receive a commission if they purchase a cat product, or anything else from Amazon. Amazon pays you a small commission to promote other peoples products on Amazon. You don't psychically own or sale anything yourself, your only job is to direct people to Amazon using the affiliate link they provide you.
