A Tale of Two Contacts
I got a call today from a fellow that was a part of my up line on the only Multi Level Marketing (MLN) company I joined. We struggled, flailed, and failed. However, I do not consider my time with the MLN as a waste. It got me actively searching on how to make money on the internet.
An Education
I have paid with dollars and time in my education. After four years I am beginning to understand what it takes to be a success. Desire, pestering everyone, and a webpage owned, designed, and exclusively controlled by another does not give success. It is reaching out, and truly helping others –that is the foundation of internet success. Wealthy Affiliates (WA) has helped me to grasp how to do that. All I have to do is do what comes naturally to me. That is insight! Four years to learn: Be Myself!
The Story
As I was saying, my associate called to give me an opportunity to join his down line. I listened and congratulated him on being with the same organization for over six months. I also commended him on liking and using the product he is selling. He then told me how great the product is. I took that opportunity to remind him how we worked together and got involved with marketing techniques that we were not comfortable with, but believed our up line that is how one becomes successful.
I then reminded him that the last time we talked I was telling him I found a way to market our products for free. He acknowledged that conversation and informed me it was last October. As I explained how by joining the free side of this marketing group he would get two free web sites of his own. He interjected his company does not have a replicated web site. I told him that was good. These websites are not replicated; they are his to build according to his interest. I then gave an explanation that mixed Wealthy Affiliates, Street Articles, and Jaaxy. Explaining briefly the object is to get first page ranking on Google, based on content. The object was not to beat everyone over the head with your product. I also informed him how poorly I am starting, but sold $180 of product last week. He got very excited and asked me to send him the link to this marvelous marketing tool.
Another Story
I was visiting with my Physician the other day and he was busy signing on to coupons for a web site. I asked, “What are you doing?” He explained, “Affiliate marketing.” He has paid a man $2,500 to learn how to be a success at affiliate marketing. He showed me his web page, which was a splash page with four text picture bubbles that linked to affiliate pages that were nothing but banners. I tried to talk to him about WA, but he was not interested. After all, he sent $2,500 to a fellow who, “Cannot believe he is sharing how he has made his millions over the internet” for a mere $2,500.
A Measurement of Motivation
I reckon I will have to outperform my physician friend before he will be interested in Wealthy Affiliates, Street articles, and Jaaxy. Too bad; it is really sad, because I discerned he does not understand SEO power, content, and page ranking. I thank God I stumbled into Street Articles, then Jaaxy, and finally checked out WA. I am not taking off at the speed of light, but I do have lift off and am gradually accelerating.
Meanwhile, my first associate will take the free Wealthy Affiliates membership and struggle to grasp what I am learning, but I will be there to help him. I just hope I enter and complete Street Articles thirty day challenge before he does, because when he finally grasps the principles, his “rocket” will accelerate very rapidly after his liftoff.

Very nice story -- I take it that if you join street articles you need to write 30 articles in 30 days? Is that referenced here on WA some place? Sounds like you are making some money -- which I'd definitely like to do so I'm going to follow in case you have more interesting things to say in the future!
The 30 in 30 is a challenge that some undertake. It is not required to do but if you want to learn to write well and quickly, it is a very good exercise.
This is a great perspective on what this place helps you to accomplish. The 30 in 30 is a tough month but you will find that it is well worth the time spent. You not only will have 30 articles under your belt but will have discovered that writing them isn't all that hard.
Keep at it and you will succeed.

great post and interesting read. You mention you will have to outperform you physician. Two things. 1. Competition is a good thing in that it provides a solid, healthy motivation, and 2. Actions are definitely louder than words. Sometimes you can talk to a person until your blue in the face and not get them off the dime. Perform and they will follow you without having to say a word. :)
Thanks for the contribution...
