Realizing The Value of Google+

WHY THE SUDDEN CHANGE IN ARTICLE?

I know you were probably expecting another JavaScript tutorial and actually, I will be restructuring my tutorials to be more simple than what they are thanks to a warm, friendly member here (i.e. not to imply that any of you are non-friendly by any means)! When I will find her profile, I will give her credit.

SO, WHAT ARE YOU EXCITED ABOUT?

The latest WAbinar was on the effectiveness of Google+. Before this, I was using both Facebook and Twitter and only made tweets about HTML tips and it would get sent through my Twiiter and later my Facebook account. I thought this was amazing thing within itself, back then. I got tired of posting the same basic content to Twitter, followed by Facebook. Linking the two helped me tremendously! However, things are changing and Google+ is the new head boy in town and I never realized the value of it before. In my own view, everyone should get on Google+...this is what I'm excited about!

WHY SHOULD I GET ON GOOGLE+?

Google+, like anything else, is a social networking tool. In my opinion, it is much better than Facebook, or Twitter. You should not get on Google+ because it's the latest tool. The better motivation would be to get on it, since a lot of people are loving it, including myself! Also, your other motivation should be to share quality content together. I like to work on my Google+ page and I enjoy learning new things about it! The only way you'll learn is to try it for yourself!

SUMMARY

Google+ is a good platform to be on during these times. Facebook is so much cluttered with apps galore and clutter everywhere! I like the simplicity of Google+, myself. I would recommend it to anyone! Feel free to add any comments, or suggestion. I will be getting back to JavaScript training and you may be in for a surprise as we progress in the series! Oops! I know...now it's not a surprise anymore!

Smiley you've done it again. Great info.
Have been quite disappointed with Facebook since joining about a month ago.
Google has been my place for a long time and gmail. With the addition of + you can create specific circles of friends or business to invite to hangout, rate the websites as your 'go to' websites, create webpages and blogs to link to your friends with handouts, you can become recognized on the internet for free.... or just pull down on your iGoogle page, from more to even more, and everything google does is there.
Looking forward to more of your Javascript.

That rating you mentioned...is that similar to pinning it, as in using PInterest social networking site? That seems to be a site where you share stuff on there. I signed up, however haven't used that, yet! I'm glad to hear you enjoy my article. I can tell your an avid reader. ;)

Great Stuff Stephen, I know I'm still just scratching the surface with Google+ there is much to learn and such a huge opportunity for people to connect in an organized and focused manner.
Facebook has lost that. Their edge algorithm just made them useless for marketing. The almighty buck has won them over and reduced their effectiveness.
Google on the other hand has the pulse of the industry and has created a superior product.
Thanks for joining our hangout, hope it gives you another perspective on stuff.

Thanks for the reply! It gives me a warm feeling you liked my article. I never stop learning. I always like it when people like you validate my words! And yes, I think I'm going to join all the hangouts and comment on them like I usually do. I learned so much from others even at the hangout!

Excellent stuff on G+, Steve. Ben got me on it a month or so back but I haven't yet expanded my horizons on it. It is definitely structured better than FB! Thanks again for your insight!!!

You're welcome! I've been on Facebook and Twitter for years it seems. Facebook is looking more cluncky and Twitter is sometimes too basic, especially in regards to "keeping your tweets to as low as 140 words". To me, that's like being a bean counter (i.e. no offense to any accountants here)!

Jay's been posting regular updates about why people should use G+ big time. A lot of it is kind of confusing, but I'm still learning. Social media is important to leverage.

I don't think you can ever stop learning on this site! If you ask me, I think there needs to be an easier way of where the user should go. For example,"Step 1", go here, "Step 2" do this, and so on! If Kyle and Carson do that, it is my belief that they will get even more users motivated. People enjoy when things are simple and directed. Thanks for telling us that, so we are aware! I'm going to take every advantage I can on social media to help people get what they want. :)

I agree, google+ seems underrated. But its areally good social media platform Spread the love :)

Well, anytime a new technology comes along, there has to be conformity to the new platform and that may take some time!

Great stuff, I like this and you are right. we are in the beginning I feel of what google plus will do

Thanks Steve for the this post.

We need more people at hang outs Right?

Exactly! As you know social networks are about engaging and the more opportunities we have at doing that, the better, if you ask me! and I think it was you was ,mentioning my articles needed spicing up to make it easier for non-technical users, right? :)
