When it comes to affiliate marketing, almost everybody is looking mainly for products with high commission rates.
Well, I am going to say it loud and clear: that’s a HUGE mistake.
There is no doubt, the commission rate is important ... but usually is overrated, especially by the rookies.
I get it, it’s a natural impulse, but is still a mistake.

Why? It’s simple ... Just do the math! A product with a smaller commission rate and a higher price often will generate more income than a cheaper product which pays very high commissions.
In other words:the commission rate or the price is NOT the most important factor!
When you are trying to choose a really profitable affiliate product, the most important criteria is neither the commission rate, nor the price. The only factor that matters is the conversion rate!
The equation is extremely simple. You can promote expensive private jets or super-cars for mind-blowing commissions ... or, you can try to build a steady income source promoting relatively cheap, high-demand products with fair commission rates.
The decision is yours.
The motto: If you want a long wandering in the bushes, choose the private jets. If you want to catch a few birds every day, go for well-rated, affordable products or services.
And there is more ... Another important factor: the transaction type ...You can choose between one-off commissioons (a one-time commission for selling a private jet), and recurring transactions that will will give you repeated monthly commissions (for example, monthly subscriptions for a paid email provider service). In my opinion a steady, recurring income stream is definitely better than a simple one-time payment.
