Day 7 of 30: Ranking 1st for Primary Keyword

Indexed And Ranking on Page 1 in Google...

AND at the top of the page.

Actually I own the first few spots.

Now, let me be clear on something. I am laser focusing my marketing on one keyword.

This first site is in the "DIY" ("Do-It-Yourself") niche and I can tell you now that it's not "How to Scrapbook" :) ...

Can you imagine how long it would take to rank for something like that?!

Page 1 After 7 Days? You MUST Be Doing Something Shady

Nope.

My approach has nothing to do with targeting the most popular search terms and trying to "game" the system.

I'm not cheating. Ain't nobody got time for that!

All I'm doing is being ULTRA specific the term I am going after and not addressing any other latent keywords at this stage.

I'm focusing on one keyword and one keyword only.

Listen, I know that it's best to go after multiple keywords and build an authority site to generate a boat-load of traffic.

I'm testing out this new strategy in my challenge and will let you know how it goes.

What's The Purpose of The Site?

Keeping it simple.

One term, one affiliate product.

The site is a "funnel" for that product. The entire site - which (as a reminder) is focused on one term in the DIY niche.

I could try to get some email captures on there and what not but honestly that's not the point of the site.

Maybe on another project but this challenge is about affiliate income.

Sure, the down-side is that I can't build up an email list and market to them later.

The up-side is I don't have to worry about anything other than traffic.

• No product creation.
• No customer support.
• No emailing various promotions.

Those things are great in other scenarios, but also quite a bit more time consuming.

Okay, So What Are The Goals?

Honestly? Anything.

The affiliate program has 75% payout with an average payout in the $30s. One site isn't going to result in a fortune by nature of the keyword.

However, over time more sites will be added to the portfolio. It'll add up. It's all about the "long game".

But I'm getting ahead of myself.

This challenge is to earn affiliate income in 30 days... and that's what I aim to do. Even if it's just $1.
