What 'Moves You' To Take Action? Part 1

[Here are a few thoughts on part of the process behind getting worthwhile, sustained results.]

Understanding this concept is a key for doing what it takes to achieve the goals & outcomes that you desire. What is your reason for confronting and overcoming the trials and challenges to be faced as you move from where you are currently positioned, toward securing the level of success that you are truly seeking? What’s your prime MOTIVATION? Have you clearly identified and defined your reason “Why” you will be taking action? (Casual curiosity won’t cut it nor will a ‘suck-it-and-see’ approach. They never have…)

WA offers a highly professional, well-structured, centre of functional resources to advance one’s knowledge and competence within the IM sphere. This format is consistent with other high-quality, online educational entities but, according to numerous comments by active, committed members, WA is significantly superior. This is because it is further expanded and strengthened through the support of an experienced, responsive, interactive community; a positive-thinking and action-taking community that genuinely cares about the progress and development of all WA participants.

Despite what WA does very well, it is still primarily focused on the substantial “How” process and not so much on the essential “Why”, which is a pivotal element (besides consistent effort) that you, the WA Member, must personally ‘bring to the table’. Once clarified, it will act as a powerful catalyst on the IM-success-formula being studied here - and that element is to know exactly “Why” you are here.

The motivation with which most people are familiar has an external influence, being packaged as either a desire to gain something you don’t possess or a fear of loss regarding something you want to keep. Both are accepted as being effective, prime motivators that drive people on to higher levels of achievement and/or output.

In the short term, they have the potential to deliver a reasonable result, BUT not often in the long term, which appears to be the preferred interest by many folk who are part of this community. The intentions apparent here are to replace income generated by a job or pay off a mortgage, to finance an investment portfolio or take a well-deserved vacation, perhaps to support worthwhile causes, to become debt-free or financially independent etc.

Predominantly, we are all exposed to world systems and modalities that function around these external perspectives. For example, you may be challenged at work to increase sales or production, via the demand to now meet revised targets (often with reduced budgets) and, if successful, you’ll secure that prized bonus or incentive (or some other elusive reward); and all under the pretext that this motivates you with an intensified desire to gain the promoted ‘dangled carrot’ or marketed ‘shiny object’. Been there, done that!

The fear of loss, as with retaining employment, for example, can be a strong, albeit stressful, motivator too; sometimes an element exploited by an insensitive or unscrupulous employer. I’ve experienced this by being ‘leant on’ to work longer hours and take shorter breaks, without fair compensation, due recognition or expressed appreciation. Maybe that’s your predicament at this very moment.

It’s pretty tough to continually force yourself to front work day-after-day when your motivation is, primarily, externally-based. Even when these categories of motivation deliver their rewards – those rewards can be very short-lived and, hence, quite disappointing in respect to obtaining some long-lasting satisfaction.

The main motivation that really makes things happen, to any meaningful and durable degree, is secured from an internal perspective; essentially more a matter of the heart than of the mind. Motivational speakers & trainers refer to this active form of determination as being an expression of ‘self-motivation’.

I suspect this is why Kyle & Carson, and whoever introduced you to WA, will likely be talking about pursuing something that you are passionate about as the best way to advance and stabilise a profitable position within the IM industry.

It is also from a perspective of introspection (examining your own internal thoughts & feelings) that your true “Why” – the heart of the matter - will be discovered and revealed.

Thank you for sharing your insights into this has got me to think more on it

Thank you for that KatieMac - I've spent a lot of time thinking over this myself. The concept can be applied to any aspect of life really - take relationships for example. If the connection is externally motivated only, then the value perceived will always be assessed by what each individual determines they have gained or lost within their relationship. But if it is generated and fueled from the heart, any amount of pressure that comes against it will not diminish its value. Enjoy a wonder-filled day!

that is so very true thank you have a good evening and will look forward to part 2

Haha - still morning in my part of the world but the sentiments will be equally applied to my southern hemisphere time-zone. Much appreciated. (Part 2 just uploaded - hope there is something within it that assists you to move forward on your personal journey.) Cheers...

lol well we are a global community and I am in Scotland

Wow! Thank you for this :)

You're very welcome...I'll post the second part within 24 hours. Cheers...

I am fascinated about what you all can display on a website, and I love to find out every bit of it. I truly love to work on a computer. My husband is production worker, from 8-5 in a fabric, and it motivates me enormously to get a steady income while working on websites, because I really like the thought of giving my husband the opportunity to stop his dreadful job.

Hi Loes - I know exactly what you mean - all a bit of mystery when you get to see what code is actually used to achieve these impressive results. Glad we can advance here without having to study or learn computer languages.

Loving relationships sure make for some powerful heartfelt motivators to inspire us to take consistent action, especially when things get tough. I trust your application and efforts within WA will deliver the freedom you are seeking for yourself and your husband. Blessings...

:) Thank you!
