SiteComments rant!

Hey folks.

I don't wanna waste our time so I'll go straight to the heart of my problem.

What's going on with the quality of the comments I'm getting through SiteComments? Is everyone brain dead or new people here are oblivious to the rules?

I'm getting comments that are COMPLETELY irrelevant to my content - they're simply giving me feedback on my site's layout, graphics etc. I've disapproved few comments already, but the same crap keeps repeating nonetheless. Low quality seems to be on the menu at the moment...

Anyone else facing the same perils?

Cheers and God bless,

Simon

If they are of low quality, disapprove with your reason why. There are sometimes comments that are actually SiteFeedback and we do send an email to people with training every time a comment is disapproved. I recommend you disapprove any "comment" that is actually feedback, that sounds like what is happening here.

We are also going to continue addressing this from our end as well with further training and likely going to be putting people through mandatory training before they go into the SiteComment platform moving forward.

That really is a GREAT idea Kyle

Paul

Great idea. There definitely needs to be some training.

Thank you for replying Kyle, much appreciated.

It seems like a mandatory training or tutorial would suffice in my view. People seem oblivious to obvious things, and being a newbie doesn't necessarily excuse anyone.

It's unfortunate, but I'm disapproving all of the irrelevant comments - at least they can read from my reasoning.

Cheers and God bless,
Simon

Hello Simon - this is an ongoing problem and I do blogs about it every few months. It is hard to understand this when you are a new comer and it took me three months to grasp it!
Best thing is to reply to the person and explain and ask if they could do a comment on your site as that is where they go anyway

Hey, Paul.

I do give reasons as to why I disapprove comments - it's mandatory anyway. Hope they take notes.

Sure, some new folks might find it confusing. But honestly - it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that Site Comments is for COMMENTS and Site Feedback is for FEEDBACK regarding our websites.

Cheers and God bless,
Simon

yes I know mate but people are people right!

Sorry, my comments have been really good. They are relevant but I also get some feedback on the site as well.. Not sure what the problem could be?
