Facebook Trolls- How you can Protect Yourself!

Hello my Fellow Entrepreneurs,
I am sharing some tips today about the problems caused by Social Media Trolls
If you have ever been in the situation where you have been trolled on Facebook, Instagram or any other social media platforms !
It can be very hard to distinguish a trick they might be doing to get more trolls to follow you,
A Facebook Troll is someone or a robot that will stalk you in your posts to social media, they will follow you and deliberately like your posts and then have a sarcastic comments while tagging your name.
They are extremely dangerous and has been a main cause of child bullying and adult abuse.
The thing is they can do, is also be programmed to stalk your name, the bot is given instructions after initially being tagged by a human troll.
A social media troll will also add you as a Friend, be diligent and check all profiles that add you to be a friend in social media.
If a Profile looks suspicious, do not add them to your account, block and report that account.
A profile can look suspicious for many reasons
Here are some points
- Is the account an Army soldier profile picture?
- Does the profile account have made up Names?
- Look at what the account is liking!
- Research the About Me page on the account!
What do do!
When you recognize a social media Troll (BULLY)
The best thing to do is make a reply by tagging their name reporting why you disagree with their comments under your tagged name.
Then block that account and do not reply again!
BLOCK and Report their account.
I do not like this but there does happen to be social media trolls here in Wealthy Affiliate and I know this because I have witnessed it for over a year and half here at WA!
Fight for what is right my friends,
Because our children need us!

It’s unbelievable how mean people can be, but your warning is important. I try to turn in anyone that I think is doing this kind of thing. I never hear the results but I try.

Yes I agree it is very soul destroying what these Bullies are doing.
I also report as soon as I notice this happening, it is essential to report and block!

Hi Erica,
While I gave up Facebook many years ago, this advice is great for dealing with internet trolls everywhere. I've had several here at WA and I ignore them now and report right away to Kyle and they are quickly taken care of.
I agree on the children, but I also believe it has its toll on adults as well. Times are stressful, so many are stretched thin and the last thing they need are those last straws that might break the back.
You're correct that bullies need dealt with quickly. Often many will try to reason with them, and their kindness is mistaken as weakness encouraging the bully to ramp up their behavior.

I agree that Kylie in WA is extremely diligent at blocking troll accounts thanks for the reminder here!
However I do feel that security could be improved by having to provide identity to open a WA account! And part of that is providing an address or proof of location perhaps for someone that may be homeless!

I love Facebook, I think it is a very powerful tool to get free advertising and followers, however any platform has it's fair share of Trolls, a sad fact of social media!

It’s one of our modern day hazards, Erica and one of many reasons why social media is negative imo…especially Fakebook. Phony accounts get set up and when you report them YOU are the violator of their “community standards.” Lol.
You’re right in your assessment. Keep blocking and stand up for what’s right.

I do think standing up for rights is a good idea, because it helps the children that are not aware of such things.
