Hey Penny,
The URL option would serve you better by putting in high ranking competitors' URLs so that you can see what keywords they are targeting and try to utilize some of what they are doing.
What you want to use Jaaxy for at this point is to type in keywords related to your niche (and use the Keyword option in the dropdown). Then do an analysis of the best keywords based on the parameters that were given in the training. Then you can structure your blog posts around those better keywords.

Hi Penny, I just checked on a test site I have on the rubix side.
I changed the title in Themes > Customize and it shows the change in the header
I did the same in Settings > General and it worked there too. The header shows the change.
However, it does not change what's is shown in the footer. So if you change the title as shown above, it's alright. Your footer may not reflect the change.
What is important though, is that it will change in the "Page Source" and that's what the search engines are seeing. I need to check how to change what's in the footer.

Hello shorty. You just got started! My advice is to change your background. It detracts from the main header. Look at "Subtle backgrounds" and choose a darker shade and that will make a world of difference subtlepatterns.com I will also give you a couple of really good places to find free images to commercially use in your site

Hi shorty, it's coming on, change your menu around put Home, getting started, about me, I think this looks better, change your header to something more personal it will look more professional and make some of your text links back to WA, but other that that your doing fine.
Well done for getting your site up and running. You're going in the right direction - now all you have to do is add more content. I would look at your first subheading on your about page starting , "where all..." Doesn't actually make grammatical sense and it jars when read. The rest is just great. :) Beverley
Sorry shorty49, I copied and pasted your URL into my browser; it didn't open, maybe you need to check to see what is wrong. Did anyone else experience this?
On my websites I do it with html coding. On word press you might have to change your theme. but you can easily alter the overall background color that may make it a little less stark.
Login to your admin dashboard
Click on Appearance
Click on customize (will provide side bar menu with possible alterations of color etc. Allows you to see the look with out saving it.
If you change your colors etc. You will be given the option at top "Save and Publish" then it will go live. You can always adjust it later as well.

Hi Penny I took a look at your website and I really like the header graphic. One of my favorite pictures! I would say it is a good foundation and of course add more content. One thing and this is just my personal preference I like to have a slightly contrasting background to the actual pages. Others will prefer the clean white on white look (such as here on wealthy affiliate) I just like to have some color in the margins.

I guess at this point I would recommend breaking up that long paragraph on your getting started page.
That list of 3 things needed for success. You have the right idea there but you could certainly elaborate on those 3 and describe HOW WA helps in those area's.

How do you set up the home page on your site? the page before About Me
Depends. If you want your visitors to arrive at your home page, you would go to Setting>Reading> and check "Front Page Displays:" STATIC PAGE and select which of your PAGES should be the home page.
If you want the visitor arrive at your blog roll you would then check "Your latest post"

The home page on a Wordpress site is where your blog roll is. If you want a particular article to show up as your home page, you would set your post as a "sticky".
