The Two Month Slump

This is for Paul and myself and any others of our "cohort" who began this journey about two months ago and need to be lifted up today.

We're told this is the hardest part, and where the weak often give up. We've been through the 5 courses of lessons now, we've worked harder than we ever thought we could, and written more words than the last several years combined perhaps. We have a shiny new website now - our baby - and we are getting some traffic, although we may not totally understand from where.

And we have exactly $0 in our pocket to show for it. :)

My system revolted on me today and basically said NO! I'm not going to write another word for you!

So I took the day off and finally just came back to my desk to think this through. I decided it is time to re-calibrate, take stock of what I've done well, what I need to learn better, start diving into more of those classrooms and other resources on here, and just really get focused on writing quality content. We see how much our content has improved since we started...how much better will it be two months from now! Progress at this point is measured in something other than pay, and we're not used to that.

We can't give up now, we've come too far. Let's keep it positive and affirmative, and continue to be here for each other, because after all we are really all just human beings all pretty much here for the same reason. Another big thank you to everyone who helps me keep the shiny side up. You know who you are!

I know exactly what you mean Shell, Next week will be 3 months for me.So many times i just wanted to say forget this, Its too much! I just walk away from the computer and think of why i started this in the first place. plus I'm fortunate to get a pep talk from my dad to get me back in the game. We will see this thru to the end, when everything starts flowing like water. Then we can celebrate:) Hang in there Shell:)

Said like a true champ! I look at young women such as yourself, and I remember I am a role model. In my previous life I was the CEO of Girl Scouts of Northern Indiana, and thousands of Girl Scouts looked up to me for leadership. From the mouths of babes... Thank you Jazmin.

Your very welcome Shell:)

Hello Shell, I am going to repeat myself, just answered another blog, every entrepreneur who starts his own business, has to take a loan, works his but of to build his business, and the first 5 years he is working the clock around, with a lot of blocks on his road. So with that data in mind, let us come together in about 4 years and 300 days from now, to evaluate our "businesses" greetz Loes

Thank you Loes..that certainly adds perspective for those of us who have never started our own business before.

I had with my former husband an agricutural business, hard work, never off, always turning around every dime, years and years coming by from a minimum, machinery brook down, then the vet needed etc. when you accomplishe a good running business here in about 2-5 years, you are QEEUN! Loes

I am realistic, I give it at least 3 years:) Loes

This is really a success post ... you have come to the realization that the only difference between success and failure is NOT GIVING UP ... keep working! It will happen! M

Melody, Thank you, I appreciate your supportive and uplifting words more than you can know!

Shell,
Keep moving forward even if some days that just means not to go back! You will make it, today marks week four and I to have small amounts of traffic but no money either. I know that it will work it has to. Stay positive and just know your day is coming soon. I will stop by your site and if you have a minute maybe you can do the same for me. Take care keep on keeping on,
Bill

Hi Bill, Yes, I will do that! Honestly trading comments is one of the most helpful things we can do for each other here! Thanks for your comments.

You don't have an ounce of quit in YOU ma'am. Never have; never will. Have you seen those stock charts that dip and rise and dip Nd rise as the trend continues on upwards? Well, good, you have. Your general trajectory is upwards. And now it is time for what you have planted to grow. And it will. Quality content. Say it. Ok. Smile. Give the world some time to discover you. Keep putting out that good stuff. About two months out all Columbus could see was water on all sides, so all things considered, no worries! Keep truckin!

Bob, That is a great example about Columbus seeing only water at two months. I am from Columbus, Indiana originally, so I thought at first you were talking about my hometown (not so much water there). lol. Thank you!

I know it is not much, but I just sent a link of your site to my sister; she is 56 years old and I think it will really resonate with her.

Thank you Bob! I appreciate that you saw value there.

I almost bought a dishwasher....

lol! Then I could report some revenue.

Great blog Shell!
Every small step a day definitely counts towards success.
We just have to keep dreamin' and movin'. . . .

P.S.
* I am here at WA for the long haul. . . . :-)

Benjamin, Thank you for responding. Every day we make a small step is a success. I like that!

I will help you celebrate because today we just able to move one step ahead. You are already on your way to a brighter future. We have to be persistent. Success is right in front of you. Keep focus. Look ahead.

Thank you Leando! We should celebrate. You are right! We should have an online party for ourselves! :)

You and me both and yes you just have to stay positive it will happen! I am still stuck on level two classes...sigh

Thanks Alan. Those kids are your wonderful distraction! :)

Yes for sure and my stay at home wife takes up my time also...bless her she is working hard on her book but its like another kid to look after all day lol

Oh, well we should all have one of you. :)

Well I had a good trainer lol

Nope, you can't give up now. You are well on your way so hang in! Best regards to you!

Thank you Jeannie! All good wishes for you as well!
