I am a Certified Site Commenter

My first attempt at leaving site comments was disapproved. Why? Because I did not understand the difference between a site comment and site feedback.

Anyone else been there?

Funnily enough, after posting my first "comment", I got an email from Kyle and Carson entitled “3 tips to being a great site commenter.” It was a really useful message, too, telling me all the things I didn’t do when I posted my first comment…

Anyway.

I took on board both the tips in the email and the feedback on why my comment was not approved, and I haven’t looked back since.

Yes, I am going to blow my own trumpet and state that I have become quite adept at leaving site comments! So much so, that I recently reached certified commenter status, having provided 50 approved comments within 30 days. Yay me!!!

How to leave worthwhile site comments

Several WA members have written about how to leave useful site comments. Here are a couple of articles:

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/ericcantu/blog/how-to-leave-quality-comments-in-site-comments-consistently

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/lenkasophie/blog/site-comments-use-common-sense

However, for me, I approached the whole process in the following ways:

1) I chose a wide range of interests.

I figured, the wider the range, the more websites there would be available on which to comment! Plus, it also helped that I am actually interested in a wide range of things. Thus I’ve been able to comment on articles ranging from houseplants to home gyms to heresy and bible connections! The number and variety of websites owned and created by WA members is truly amazing! (Yes, you really kind find a niche anywhere, in any market!)

2) I committed to writing 3 comments per day.

This was a nice, easy, manageable number of comments which could either be completed at one sitting, or spread throughout the day, depending on how I felt. And at 3 comments a day, I only needed 17 days to complete the required number of 50 to become certified. Breaking the task down into small chunks made the whole prospect seem much less daunting.

3) I viewed leaving comments as being involved in mini conversations.

When we make conversation, among the many things we do is share our knowledge, our insights and our experiences. We also offer and discuss our opinions (whether similar or different!), as well ask questions when we don’t understand something or want further information. Once I understood this concept, leaving site comments became a lot easier to do.

And finally

For all you newbies out there who are toying with the idea of leaving site comments but have been holding back for whatever reasons, let me tell you to something.

Give it a try.

Anything that can help you practice writing and producing content, even in short paragraphs, is worthwhile. And if you mess up and your comment is disapproved, view the feedback as constructive criticism and use it to improve. Think about the wide range of WA websites and niches out there that you will see and the new connections you could make. And finally, consider the fact that you earn a credit for each approved comment, and these credits are WA currency which can be used in a number of ways. Personally, I aim to build enough credits to pay for my annual membership. At 3 comments a day, it is a goal I could quite comfortably achievable.

Welcome, Shell.

Hi - congratulations on becoming a certified commenter. However, please be aware that you can't use your credits directly for WA membership.

You would need to let your cash credits accumulate, and then cash them out to your PayPal account.

Congrats. Thank for the tips. I sometimes look at a topic or comment. My brain is in gear but the fingers are not tapping the keyboard. Great information .
