Teacher, scuba-diver & sci-fi fan.

Whenever I’m asked to talk about myself or describe myself, those are the three things that ALWAYS come to mind. Why? Because I have had some of the best experiences in my life through these activities!

Teaching has allowed me to travel around the world. I love being able to teach and inspire young people and in turn, be inspired by and learn from them.

Being able to teach and travel has allowed me to scuba dive in some of the most beautiful places in the world. (Shark diving, anyone?) Someday I may tell you how I got into scuba diving. Some day.

And sci-fi? Well, what can I say? I’m a nerd and I fully embrace it!!! (I still haven’t watched "Star Trek: Picard" though. Should my nerd licence be revoked?)

(Hmm. I also love 80s music, but 3 is the magic number – sorry, 80s music, you did not make the cut...)

2018 – The Year of “-less”

Believe me when I tell you that teaching is a tough profession. (UK teachers earn EVERY WEEK of those 6-week summer holidays, I can tell you!) However, despite its many negatives, I’ve always enjoyed teaching, even more so when I started teaching abroad. I worked in South-east Asia for 4 years and it was great! I taught in a great school with some fabulous, creative, supportive colleagues and wonderfully kind and caring students. I loved my job; I loved that it allowed me to travel and I loved the cushy, comfortable little life it gave me.

But, as happens in any TV drama worth its salt, the good life did not last…

Let’s just say that 2018 became the year of “-less”.

It was the year I found myself jobless, homeless, partner-less, money-less & health-less.

I’m not sure if those last three are actual English dictionary words, but you get the picture, right? My life did a complete 180, and everything that I thought was secure… well… wasn’t.

2019 – The Comeback Kid

God, family and friends. Plus a defiant streak the size of Buckingham Palace. That’s how I got through the trauma of 2018 to re-establish myself in 2019. It was slow going, and downright painful at times, but there really wasn’t another option – by hook or crook, I was getting my life back on track. After all, it was the only one I had.

But as my health gradually improved, I found myself thinking more and more about my teaching career. Although I was regularly applying for jobs, I wasn’t sure if I actually wanted to go back into the profession on a full-time basis. I registered with several supply teaching agencies so I could work part time, but even those jobs were very inconsistent, and I worked very few hours throughout the year. Coupled with the fact that I was getting no replies from any of the full-time positions for which I applied, I started to think that perhaps God (the Universe or the spiritual guide of your choice) was telling me it was time for a change.

2020 – New Decade, New Direction

Of all the things we thought would happen in the new decade, I’m 100% positive a global pandemic was not on most people’s radar… (But then, Bill Gates is not “most people”, is he?)

Nevertheless, I have to say it was COVID 19, more than anything else, that gave me the final push I needed to sign up and become a part of Wealthy Affiliates.

And I am so glad I did!

It’s great to belong to such a welcoming and supportive community. I’m really enjoying the training – it’s clear, straightforward and easy to follow.

Where this entrepreneurial path eventually takes me, is really up to me and the effort I put in to creating and growing my brand. However, the one thing I do know for sure is that I am definitely in the right place.

It's a brave, new, WA world!

If you are new my recently published, warts and all, 120 days at WA story, will demonstrate the possibilities you are unlocking by becoming a member. I hope that your WA experience is all that you hoped for. I have had a great journey in the short time that I have been here. Please reach out any time I can be of help to you personally. I enjoy helping others and have been able to do just that for my fellow newbies in the time that I have been here.

If you are an old established here at WA I really do look forward to learning from you.

Good luck with your WA projects and stay safe and well

Hi Michelle
A very warm welcome to Premium membership, at an increasingly difficult time for our world. At least your WA experience will give you cause for some hope, and a potentially brighter future.

I promise that you won’t be at all disappointed, remember to keep your arms and legs inside the vehicle at all times during this wild, exciting and great fun ride!

You have made an awesome choice, in giving yourself full access to a support system that will help to unlock your creative and earning potential if you really want it to.

I can’t believe that I have been here for under 90 days, with all that I have been able to achieve in that time, all with the wonderful help and support of the folks here at WA.

Within 17 days of going premium (I was so impressed that I signed up to my Premium subscription, at the end of my first day as a free member) I had built two websites, written over 30,000 words, of keyword rich content, between 28 articles, and I had both sites indexed on Google.

I then launched a 3rd Website which indexed within 1 hour, and I have now published over 60 articles and written over 87,000 words!

I have also completed Entrepreneur Certification, become a Certified Commenter with just short of 400 comments registered and I am slowly working through level three training in WA Bootcamp. I am on fire!

I’m not telling you this to let you know how good I am, or to intimidate you, or even to suggest that you have to work at this pace, but far more importantly, to help you understand what is possible for anyone, if they want to commit to it!

It’s your choice and it’s your time and greatest of all, you are the boss; you call the shots!
Not everyone will work as fast as I wanted to, and that is absolutely fine, that is no barrier at all to eventual success. You should definitely go at your own pace. But do stay tight with the support system that WA affords you and you will get there, at whatever speed you choose to pursue your own objectives..

Ask for help anytime and I will if I can, or point you to someone who can.

However fast you decide to go I wish you the very best of good luck, and please make sure that you have fun and oh yeh …………..hold on!
