Ebay/PayPal compromise.
Hi everyone!
A bit back I posted about changing your passwords at E Bay and PayPal as they were compromised.
I changed mine and all was well or so I thought, until I went to use a bank card I have attached to my PayPal account as a back up.
Seems someone was trying to use this card a day after the compromise and the bank caught the activity and blocked the card.
No major damage was done, but the card had to be canceled and now I am waithing 7 to 10 days for a new one.
The point is if you have not changed your passwords yet and checked any activity on any bank cards you may have associated with either of these entities, what are you waiting for? LOL

Thanks Shawn for telling us about this. Thank God so far we haven't had any problems but know that many have.
I recommended to people weeks ago that they change their info because ebay was being really slow in sending out notices. I got the official email last week which was weeks after they actually announced to people that their stuff had been compromised. I would like to say though that Ebay still denies that anything in paypal was ever compromised because paypal is on a completely different set of servers. I would still change your passwords for both but there is 0 evidence that paypal had problems because of the ebay breach.
LOL> This is how much you can believe that. The only place that card was being used was through PayPal, and whoever tried to use it tried to buy gift cards at best Buy.
Now, today out of the blue I got a notice from Best Buy, which is a place I never buy from, that they are offering me as a Paypal customer free shipping...........
Thanks for the warning my paypal is only attached to an account that I put money in for bills so wont get much from me the way fraud is going these days makes you wonder should you just stash your money under the floor boards lol
The Target one caught up to us last week. They had duplicated the card somehow and were trying to use it somewhere in Indiana, we're in Florida.

Why I stopped using my debit cards years ago. I use credit cards online and cash in stores. Used to get new debit cards monthly. Rarely get new credit cards since made the switch. All my debit cards locked up in safe place only get them out when going to bank or atm.
