Hi everyone, I recieved a few email notifications over the last couple of days that I have no idea about, maybe someone can shed some light.

It says "new user registratio

Hi Shaun, I would delete it and any messages you get from unknown sources.

Thank you Michael, done.
Cheers!

I don't know much about "new user registrations on your site" message - other than what others have posted. I am thinking someone is trying to hack into your site. I would follow the advice and check your settings, but I might also let site support know... I hope that we don't have people trying to hack into our sites here on WA. BUT there CAN sometimes be "a bad egg" in the carton - so to speak.

Thank you liz, yes I was thinking the same thing but I wasn't sure.
I will go and delete now.
Cheers!

Disable user registration on your site and then go to users and remove those that you didn’t add yourself.

Is my web site being hijacked?

in your wordpress dashboard go to settings general and untick the box allowing registration - then delete the users you have not added.
good luck
phil

Thank you Phil
What exactly is it and why am I deleting it?

there is a problem with some plugins that allow bots to add users to sites.
with the box unticked you are ok.
so a little cleanup and you will be good.

Thank you Phil.
I will go and uncheck it now.
Cheers!

Ok, hi again everyone. Here is a new question, how many posts can you do on your website before it becomes too slow? or does it not make a difference at all? How many photoes c

Google Page Speed Insights measures... (drumroll) ...Page Speed.

It doesn't measure your entire website it just measures one page at a time. All your website visitors just see one page at a time. So you just have to make sure that each individual page is optimized for fast loading.

Hi Marion, thank you so much for your comment.
Much appreciated. That was what I needed to hear.
You are a star, good luck.
Cheers!

Hi Shaun, at the point you are at I would think you are good to add several more posts maintaining an proper word count. Just keep an eye on your speeds if you are adding a lot of images.

Hi thanx Michael, yes I have made all my pictures quite small because it this particular niche there are a lot of pictures, but so far the speed seems to be holding up.
S would it be safe to assume that each post is responsible for its own speed? 50 posts do not affect the speed because only one is opened at a time?

Hi,

In terms of speed, there are plugins that ensure that you are using proper sizes to make your site fast. I use the Ewwww Image Optimizer. The plugin will show whether your images are scaled properly or not.

As for the size of my website, I only have about 32 posts with 1200+ words with about 3 to 5 images in each one.

I think the speed is also dependent on the theme you are using. Some themes are already optimized while others are a bit slow.

If you go to PageSpeedInsight by Google, it will give you a detailed report which part of your sites are slow and will give you suggested solutions to fix the problem.

Regards,
JG

Thank you John, most appreciated.
I will be sure to check it out.
Maybe I don't know exactly how Google works and what their requirements are but I will go and look up page speed insight and see what it has to offer.
Cheers!

Hi everyone, I coppied the adsense code into my header 3 days ago and still no Google ad.

Am I missing something here? How can I fix it?

All feedback will be apprec

Hi - the initial piece of code just allows Google to look at your site to see if it is suitable. You have not been accepted yet. You will get an email with the decision.

Does this take longer than 3 days?

It can do - was over 2 weeks before I had a reply, and then I was declined.

Oh wow, that's so sad, ok well I guess 3 days is not a concern then.
Thank you.
Cheers!

Interesting question, I am sorry that I could be of no help but, I am interested in what others have to say. How much traffic does a website need to apply for Google Ads?

If training is followed (an assumption) level 3 lesson 7 is when we add AdSense, by then I had more then 10 posts in my site. That's probably closest an answer I could think of.

Oh okay, no I missed that one some kind of way. Thank you, for your response. I went through the training, but, I think I decided against it at that time due to not wanting to get denied and accidentally forgot about Google Adsense. I will need to go back to that training, thank you so much for your help!

Yes, also just remembered, we need to have an established website full of quality content. They look at that too, to ensure that adding their adds will get seen by traffic.

Yes, i agree with snazzy, how old is your website? Traffic and age of your website might be considerations? If Google have already agreed your site, i wouldn't worry about it

Thank you Ann.
Cheers!

I had to wait for two weeks before they added anything...it's a patience game. I think they analyze your site first for matching ads and how it will fit, well my theory anyway. See what others say.
