Alexa ranking
So as kind of a newbie I am not sure if I am getting this right but because I can't find any of my keywords ranking yet in Google I like to have an idea of how my website is doing so I go to Alexa.com and put in my website to see the global ranking. I don't know where I started but it was around 9,000,000 globally ranked and now is at the 5,300,000 mark. It jumped from around 7,000,000 a couple of days ago. I am assuming that this is good and shows my rankings are moving up with all my hard work...Am I right about this? Maybe could get some advice from the "old-timers" out there!!

Give it time and keep developing your site. Rankings don't happen overnight, no matter what spurious product promoters try to convince you of..
Yes it does and it will take a while to rank but you will get there by adding more and more post with great content to teach people what you know.
Hey,
Alexa ranking has nothing to do with keywords ranking on Google but it's a sign that your website is performing.
Whats your domain to have a look?
Cheers

I wouldn't worry so much about Alexa, the rankings are pretty much meaningless and they are not based on real data. Rather, focus more on the actual traffic that is coming to your website (through Google Analytics) and on where your site is ranking in the search engines (you an use the SiteRank feature in http://Jaaxy.com for this).
You are doing great thus far Shannon and I can see that you are definitely moving in the right direction here Shannon! :)
thank you but I can't afford to purchase Jaaxy yet so am unable to check my site rank.....do you know any other tool that can be used for this for free until I can afford Jaaxy?
I know you say that this don't matter Kyle, but I was curious as mine is on a crash course by the looks of it am I doing something wrong?
its 7 months now and not really getting any traffic
Totally meaningless. I would not put an ounce of thought into this and it should not be a metric you focus on and it definitely has no bearing in your overall results and traffic.
Some of the fastest growing sites I have worked on have lost rankings in Alexa. They don't know how much traffic you really get and your only should focus should be on your actual rankings in Google and your Google Analytics.
ok thank you just concerned as not getting any traffic yet, I feel i must be doing something wrong... What/ I dont know
