The Little-Known Task That Helps Affiliate Marketers More Than You’d Think
Help Your WA Friends
Here’s a quiet little task that can make a big difference for any affiliate marketer — and most people never even think to do it. I found out about it when I asked my ChatGPT AI some questions recently. This is something we can do to help our fellow WAers in this community.
It’s called a Click-and-Bounce Test.
Yup, it’s as simple as clicking an affiliate link and bouncing back without buying anything. Sounds odd, right? But here’s why it matters:
It helps keep affiliate links active.
Some affiliate programs deactivate links that aren’t clicked regularly. Therefore, A little click love goes a long way.
It mimics real user behavior.
Search engines and affiliate programs like to see natural behavior — clicks and bounces are part of that healthy pattern.
It helps spot broken or misdirected links.
Ever clicked a link and ended up on a 404 page or some weird unrelated site? Doing this test helps us find those glitches fast.
So if you’re ever browsing a fellow WA member’s blog, consider giving a few links a friendly click — and let them know if something looks off. That quiet quality control is worth gold in the affiliate world.
Have you tried this before? Or maybe someone’s helped you this way without you realizing? Drop a comment and share the love.
SUGGESTION FOR KYLE AND CARSON.
How about adding this as a suggestion in the offer comments section? or maybe I can add a special thread like the give and take comments thread?

This is fantastic advice. I didn't know about the bounce and click, but I do click on people's links to see what the product is, and if I like it, I won't hesitate to make a purchase. I'm all about supporting other affiliate marketers, fellow writers, and bloggers.
Yes, I do the same. If I need something on say, Amazon, anyway, I may as well click a member's affiliate link first.
But the click and bounce idea never occurred to me.

Hi Shirley,
I understand the logic behind this little task BUT...as an Etsy seller with experience, from the SELLER'S PERSPECTIVE, that click and bounce with be interprete by the different platforms as if that
product is NOT relavant because people click and bounce so fast, so it will shown less and less into searches results.
It is better to inquiry this aspect too with GTP which gives MANY TIMES FALSE INFORMATIONS and guides you to make some very big mistakes that can affect your work!
Better to double check this strategy from all the involved perspectives!
