My Goals for 2020

I'm sitting here at my computer and thinking about my goals for 2020. I know I want to set more realistic ones but still "reach for my dreams".

Financial Goal: I'm going to set a goal of making $100/month from my online business by June 30, 2020. And then a new goal after that for the rest of the year of making $300/month by December 31, 2020. That definitely means I'll have made the $299 for my WA annual fee. I really wish I could set a much higher goal and probably should, but I'm going to be very realistic and set lower goals this year and then hope to break those goals and have to set newer ones.

Publishing Goal #1: I'm setting my publishing goal of writing 2 new blog posts each week for my Mall site and 1 new blog post for my WA promotion site. That's 3 new blog posts each week for 2020. I believe that is actually doable for me.

Publishing Goal #2. I need to really start using my email list and increasing the number of names on my list for both my Mall and my WA promotional site. I want to set a goal of publishing a newsletter every 2 months for both sites. I also want to set a goal of increasing my list of names to 500 for both sites as well by June 30, 2020. This means using my GetResponse tool better and more frequently (see learning and doing goal #3 below). I would like to have 1000 visitor names on both lists by December 31, 2020. Maybe that's doable.

Learning and doing Goal #1: I'm setting a goal of watching one of Jay's teaching video each week of 2020, that is 52 for the 2020 year and I hope to learn a lot doing this.

Learning and doing Goal #2: I'm setting a goal of learning how to create Youtube videos and publishing my first one by the end of January and then one more each month. For me, that is a serious and huge goal since I'm terrified of creating videos.

Learning and doing Goal #3: I want to truly learn how to use my GetResponse autoresponder tool. My goal is to have my first email sequence set up by the end of January and then my first GetResponse funnel set up by the end of February for my WA promotional site.

Site Traffic Goals: I'm primarily working on two of my blog sites right now. I'm setting a goal of reaching over 500 visitors a month for my mall site and also 500 visitors a month for my WA promotional site by June 30, 2020. That means creating some really great content on both sites.

Anyway these are my goals for 2020. They are not great goals but something I will need to work at and could potentially meet - I hope! At least they are not "PIPE DREAMS". Sure I'd like to get rich and make a lot but I'm going to be realistic for someone like me who is 66 years old, with no funds for paid ads, not a great writer, has many "sick" and no work capable days because of my health and no "support" from my dh (he wants me to quit WA and my attempts to create a successful online business).

What are your "realistic goals" for 2020?

My "realistic" goals are to write my 4th memoir, about being the daughter of science fiction writer Cordwainer Smith, to promote my existing memoirs on my existing author site and elsewhere, to redo my Cordwainer Smith website (which I have moved here), to get more exercise and lose some weight. Oh yeah, and to do a very mild version of Marie Kondo cleaning around my house.

You have done a great job on these goals. My are much less specific which, I guess, they are not really goals. Don't let anyone dissuade you from moving forward. Happy New Year.

Sounds like great goals to me!

I love how in your profile picture you are looking up - because things are looking up!

Keep it up!

Dave.

Shirley, they are good goals, goals that are achievable, doable. I like that you have put them to paper (well e-paper) on a blog which will make yourself feel accountable.

Perhaps write a progress report at the end of January and February to highlight how well the email list is going. I personally love progress reports.

In any event have a great new year and I hope 2020 lives up to everything you have set out.. 👍
