How to Create Attention-Grabbing Blog Titles (That Google *and* Your Readers Love)
Titles Readers Love
So, you’ve written a great blog post, but it’s collecting dust because no one is clicking on it.
Let’s fix that.
Whether you’re writing about tea, travel, or tech, the title of your blog post is your first impression. It’s what pulls readers in—and what helps you rank on Google in the first place.
Here’s my go-to cheat sheet for crafting titles that actually work.
1. Use Your Main Keyword (Early!)
Don’t get fancy with fluff. Put your main keyword near the front of your title so search engines—and real humans—know what the post is about.
Example:
“Best Teas for Anxiety Relief”
“A Few of My Favorite Soothing Brews”
2. Use Power Words to Spice Things Up
Words like:
Ultimate, Simple, Proven, Powerful, Easy, Secret, Best, Quick, Delightful, Surprising
Example:
“The Ultimate Guide to Caffeine-Free Herbal Teas”
3. Add a Clear Benefit or Promise
Let readers know why they should click. What’s in it for them?
Example:
“5 Teas That Help You Sleep Like a Baby (Naturally!)”
4. Include Numbers (Odd Ones Work Best!)
People love list posts—especially with odd numbers (no idea why, it just works).
Example:
“7 Green Teas with Surprising Health Benefits”
5. Ask a Question
Questions are great for matching search intent and piquing curiosity.
Example:
“What’s the Healthiest Tea to Drink Every Day?”
6. Let Your Personality Shine
Go snarky, sweet, or soulful—whatever fits your brand.
Example:
“Why I Broke Up With Coffee and Fell in Love With Rooibos”
or
“Sassy, Bold, and Caffeine-Free: Meet Snarky Tea”
7. Be Specific, Not Vague
Skip the generic stuff. Readers want details, not mystery novels.
Example:
✅ “How to Brew Oolong Tea in a Gaiwan”
❌ “How to Make Tea”
✅ 8. Use Colons or Dashes to Break Up Ideas
This adds rhythm and clarity to your headline.
Example:
“Iced Tea Tips: How to Brew the Perfect Summer Sip”
9. Add Urgency or Timeliness
Especially if your post is seasonal or tied to a trend.
Example:
“Best Iced Teas to Try Before Summer Ends”
10. No Clickbait—Keep It Real
It’s tempting to go big with the hype, but always deliver on the promise. Google (and your readers) will thank you.
Final Tip: Write 5 Titles, Then Pick the Best One
Don’t settle for your first idea. Write a few, tweak them, and see which one pops!
Over to You! Got a tea blog like me? Or something totally different?
Try rewriting your last blog post title using this checklist and share the before-and-after in the comments. I’d love to see what you come up with!

Sounds great, Shirley! My son and I are tea drinkers. We love chai yerba-mate that I order online. Been drinking it for years. Fixed in a French press.

I drink lots of herbal teas for health reasons. I’ll have to try that chai. Thanks for your comment. -Shirley

Last week, I was returning by train from Mwanza to Tabora. When the internet connection was restored, I remembered seeing the PmBet Casino banner. I went there, chose blackjack, and decided to play a few games. I quickly figured out the interface and rules. The trip flew by, and the game turned out to be a convenient way to keep myself busy on the road.
