Hi there Melvin. Nice to meet you. I read you blog on private people and I agree it. Have a happy and profitable journey with WA (and I don't just mean financially!) and keep in touch.

Thanks Helen, I'm glad that you could relate.
I will definitely keep in touch as that is what this community is about.

I have not reaped any benefits financially as yet but then I have not been working to script.

The benfits of WA are far stronger than money for those who seek them (benefits).
The learning here is invaluable.

On my website I just publish a post "Can you serve two gods"
http://financemagnate.co.uk/can-serve-two-gods/
which is about the mindset for acquiring and maintaining wealth.

Please have a read I would love to know what you think and would welcome a comment on the site (either way) because I think this is something that we all have an opinion on although no one has responded as yet.
I think in time when people get to know you not just visually then they will interact like Kyle said.

Wishing you daily fullfilment and much success,
Melvin.

Hi, it’s a pleasure to meet me, lol.

No seriously, I wanted to take a moment to thank you for following me. I’m pretty impressed with WA training and I think we will find a gold mine of information. Hmmm, seems like geniuses like us tend to gather in the same place (lol). Anyway, here’s wishing you all my best for your success with online marketing. Let me know if I can help you … GrampaMike

Thank you grampamike,
I read your humerously cynical profile and look over at the blogs and thought I shall read them before verbal contact; but I knew I would be communicating with you soon.

I noticed from the blog titles how WA has played with your emotions and frustrations, eventually wining you over.

WA is like an 'Ocean Liner' which we have to sail (all that entails) across waves.
You can imagine the task and the journey.

Please visit my site and leave a comment:

Best wishes to you, I am sure we shall speak again.

Are you a poet? The response above sounds like either a poet or novel writer composed the words. I'll bet your the posts on your site will come with a lot of flavor for your readers.

I'm getting a lot of requests for site reviews so I am going to throw in this disclaimer; if you don't want to hear any criticism or will feel discouraged by my review then stop reading now.

I had to point out some flaws on other peoples' websites and at the end I felt really bad. I don't like criticizing anyone. You probably have a perfect site and all you will get is a glowing review. You never know. That being said, let's get on with the review.

I don't need to repeat that you have a good looking website. I read people's comments on your site so take their word for it, the site looks great.

I like the navigation links. Easy for me to figure out how to get around your site. User friendly.

Terms of service and privacy policy well placed at the bottom where they should be. I'm no lawyer but these pages seem to have the appropriate elements in the text to cover your rear.

Copyright presence which protects your intellectual property rights.

Social media links well placed at the top and to the right. That upper right position is very important on any page. It's a natural spot where your site visitors look and one of the most important advertising spots on the page.

So what is a Finance Magnate? Sounds like some rich guy who is good at finance. Is that the message you intended to impart to your site visitors immediately when they see the first words on your site? How is this title descriptive of the purpose of your website? Would a descriptive sub-title help describe the purpose of your site?

Let's look at an example. The following link goes to my website that I created last night using the WordPress platform. I don't use WordPress for my sites but I just wanted to know what other WA members who do use WP were experiencing.
http://grampamike.siterubix.com/

Now compare your title with mine. Which more clearly implies the real purpose of the website the visitor are reading? Sorry but getting a reader's attention and getting them intrigued is what the site title and sub-title are all about.

I started my online presence in 2004. In all those years I got very good at running into scams and being scammed. This turned me into an online skeptic. Boy you should have seen me put WA through the ringer trying to find "the catch." Nothing WA said could convince me in the beginning that they were for real.

So the first red flag I saw was a clear statement saying, "your gateway to financial freedom." Oh oh, what are you trying to sell me? I can feel the tentacles of an online octopus trying to reach into my wallet. That is a common theme in my experience with scammers. So what will convince me, the skeptic, to continue on reading your site?

What does the first paragraph say on my site? I'm here to provide you with information and tutorials ... In other words, I don't want your money, I want to help you. Hey, truth be told, my affiliate partners do want your money but I am trying to be subtle about it and guide you to my affiliate links.

I read more of your home page and it sounded like a sales pitch. In need of our help, opportunities, you must grasp, you must seize, to create a lucrative online business, etc. Yep, you are selling me something alright. I just don't know what yet.

Someone said we affiliates are here to help and inform our site visitors and our affiliate partners are the ones who do the selling. So what on your home page tells me your are there to help me and not sell me on some product or service? When you read my home page can you tell what I'm selling? Do your feel I'm trying to take your money with some get rich scheme?

The following is an example of one of my web pages which ranks number 4 on Google. What am I selling on that page? Can you tell?
http://www.healthtopics4you.info/pacemaker-candidates-why-me.html
I make money off that page. It's popular and ranks high on Google. How do I make money off that one page? Look carefully. Can you see how I provide a solution for patient information and subtly insert my affiliate link?

What I'm saying is tell don't sell.

Your About Us page starts out with a pretty good bio. It makes you sound like a human I can relate to. The page then evolves into sounding more like a sales pitch for Wealthy Affiliate which you tried to sell me on in the home page. Ok, two pages devoted to convincing me of the wonder of Wealthy Affiliate. If Wealthy Affiliate couldn't convince me, the skeptic, then how will you?

Did you notice on my site the use of my picture. I want you to feel like you are speaking to a real person. Pictures of myself especially a cute one will help readers connect with me as a human and not just a talking web page.

I love videos on websites. You make good use of video. It's placed well on the page. Graphics load slowly and slow page loading which annoys visitors. By placing videos towards the bottom, your site visitors are focused on the text at the top of the article instead of waiting for some graphic to load. Banners slow page loading too.

I get your message, I think. Pay it forward is how you feel about helping me. At least that's what I got out of the video.

Now why am I viewing a foreign language video? Most if not all of your site visitors are English speakers.

If I were a spammer then I would love the disclosure of your email address on the About Us page so I can fill your inbox with a thousand messages a day trying to get you to buy Viagra or apply for a credit card.

Hey, I made the same mistake 10 years ago so don't think you are the only one. I use a web form for customer communication so my email address is hidden. I also use a captcha utility so I know the person filling out the form is a human. Spammers use robots to scour the net and find published pages with email addresses. I highly recommend you use a contact us form.

Yep, spammers would love your contact us page too.

I looked at your first post and I was happy to see your links open in a new window. That's important because you don't want your site visitors leaving your site especially if they want to come back and don't know how they found you.

Your first post had some useful information then involved into more sales pitch for Wealthy Affiliate. Again, tell don't sell. Compare that with my first post: http://grampamike.siterubix.com/category/affiliate-marketing/

My post is nothing but information and inspiration however brief. The post is incomplete and would eventually end with a final paragraph which says something like, "I used to be a novice online entrepreneur so I had to find sources of information which could help me learn the ropes. I did find a good teacher. I used and still use to this day a resource called Wealthy Affiliate. You may appreciate the unparalleled help they offer. There are a bunch of free lesson you could take advantage of today." I would highlight and link with my affiliate link the words "Wealthy Affiliate" No banners !!! I want my customer to be intrigued. Tell don't sell.

A really solid post you published is "How to set up your business." I liked that article. Great "how to" information. That's the type of comprehensive information which captures a reader's imagination because you are providing useful information which will help me accomplish my goal of setting up my own business. I recommend all your posts read like that.

Finally, what makes you a credible source of information. For example, I began my learning to become a webmaster in 2004. In my second year, my online business earned over $30,000.00 which I can prove with my IRS tax returns and to this day I have web pages which rank in the top 10 in Google search results. Here is an example of a number 4 web page I authored: http://www.healthtopics4you.info/pacemaker-candidates-why-me.html
Those two sentences just established my credibility as a webmaster.

Have I talked your ear off yet? The moral of this review is "tell don't sell." Provide a ton of useful information that will help me achieve my goals. I don't want to buy something. I want to learn something. Teach me something I don't already know. Not only that but your website will not rank well if you don't provide lots of useful and self-authored information.

I will send you the invoice for my critique soon. (just kidding)

Sincerely,
GrampaMike

Thank you grampamike,
This is the best review I have ever read, not because it is about my site but because of your thoroughness and constructive criticism.
I thank you again for taking the time and propensity to conduct this review.
I shall be attending to all the issues that you have highlighted as I value your opinion appreciatively.
I am not an acclaimed poet :) but I do like words and it is all my own work; granted with some inciteful input from people like yourself.
I am benefiting from connecting with you, for the third time; Thank You.
Wishing you all the success and happiness that you yearn for.

Thank you for getting back to me. I still feel really bad even when trying to give constructive criticism. Thank you for being so receptive. I feel better.

You are the rightful author of your website and have full poetic license to disagree with what I say. Shoot, if I had followed the SEO expert advice I was told in the beginning then I would have been held back from discovering what Google really likes to see on my own.

I'm not much of a follower. A child of the 60s who marches to my own drum.

I hope I helped you move closer to your dreams and not be a clone of me, lol ... GrampaMike

Always moving closer to my dream, I have been since prenatal it's just taking longer than forecasted.

Hi Steve,
i like your indepth take, in an answer of yours that I read.
Thanks for the advice I agree, that is what I have chosen but I am a bit of a perfectionist and I try to do too much, which is taking time to do everything thats required.
I am persevering though.

I know what you mean, Melvin, but perfectionism can be a sand trap that's hard to get out of. It can be useful to set a specific date, and get it out there by that date. The product can always be improved after the first release, and be even better than it otherwise would have been because of feedback and suggestions. I've done a bit of financial copywriting, so you can contact me by PM if you have specific questions.

If you can help people, you can create a successful business doing so. This goes for absolutely any niche Melvin.

Over the years I have personally been involved in many niches and the same principles held true. If you help someone, you build trust and once you have trust, you can generate revenue through your promotions. Not until then.

That is what you are going to learn all about here at WA and the proper strategies to create a business online. I look forward to working with you and if you need a hand with anything moving forward, simply drop me a reply here and I will give you a hand.

PS. I hope you have a wonderful week ahead!
