SCAM CALL -- Windows Repair Guy

Those who live in America may know what these are. People call you on your phone, and most times, it's obvious that it's a spam call with an announcer robot. However, as the years pass, spam callers are getting better and better at hiding it. So far, since I moved in town, I've been getting a LOT of these, mostly robots, however, there is one that wasn't:

The Guy Calling from "Windows".

This guy is one of the worst. What he'll do is say he's calling from Windows, which, if you think about it, there is no "Windows" company. The company's name is "Microsoft", not "Windows", and that's the first keyword to this spam call.

He'll call you, and try to convince you that there is a virus on your computer, even going so far as to making you turn it on and look. Which, by the way, what he has you look at isn't a virus at all.

After he gets you to look at the so called "Viruses" he'll tell you that he'll give you step by step instructions on how to remove it from your computer, then he'll direct you to a website, where he tells you to buy this special software that will remove the virus. To buy it, it requires CREDIT CARD INFORMATION.

So after he steals your credit card information, that software you just bought, basically allows that person to control your computer, and deactivate it from the inside if you don't pay up the money after you download that software. It's a scam, and is a dangerous threat to your computer, as well as your bank account. Thankfully, this hasn't happened to me, I was lucky enough to realize that this was a spam call because I consider everything that tries to make me buy something; spam. But what about those who fell for this? It makes me wonder how many hundreds of people he has conned into this? Probably many.

This guy is sneaky, and he is persistent too. Whatever excuse you come up with, he will counter it as long as he knows you have a Windows computer. And he WILL CALL BACK. Maybe not today, or tomorrow, but he will.

So you're wondering, how the heck do you get this guy to stop talking to you? Well, for me, all I had to say was:

Me: "I don't have a Windows computer, I have a Mac," (lie)
Him: "You have a Mac." (Not even a question lol) "..." "All right, have a good day, bye." (hangs up real quick)

Let's see how that works out. I know he'll probably call again, but that's a great way to get him off really fast. Confront him about the malware he sells, and he'll hangup just as fast. But either way, if you just hang up, he will call again immediately after, did that to me twice.
Him: "You lost signal on your phone, correct?"
Me: "..." "suuuure..."

If you want, rip his ass a new one. He deserves it, he ruined a lot of lives with those calls he made.

Ever hear of the "Do Not Call List"? Probably not. It's something very few people know about.
What the "Do Not Call List" does is exactly as the name says. It puts the person who calls that list on the do not call list, that way, you will stop recieving spam calls. Your phonenumber is on a list somewhere and spammers are calling it, the do not call list is a great way to stop that.
I"m not gonna say that it changes lives and is a miracle, because it'll take a month to activate. And as far as experience? I'm currently using it. It hasn't activated yet, but I'm hoping it does some good. I heard about it frequently around where I live, and it' ssupposed to work well. So I'm giving it a shot. It's a pain in the ass waiting for calls to come in about my job applications, only to get my hopes up on a spam call - -'

However, it may vary depending on where you live. I don't know. But even so, worth a shot lol
