Hi All,
I'm having problems connecting via FTP to my domain businessdebtrescue.org.
I am using Filezilla and setting up the host, username, password just as shown in
Keep us posted on progress, please. Sorry everything for me is right here so I don't have any of these problems, but it's always good to know remedies for future reference.
I couldn't get Filezilla to work right for me either. I use WinSCP and it works great, very easy to setup and use. http://winscp.net/eng/download.php
Thanks I'll give it a go. I have 5 other websites I host on other providers and all these work fine with the filezila client so maybe WA need to make some changes.
I'll try WinSCP and let you know. Thanks for the help Tim
Hi Steve! -

And remember Rome wasn't built in a day...but they were laying bricks everyday!
Hi David,
Just downloaded and installed WinSCP. Tried to connect to my site but failed authentication. There were warnings ahead of this regarding the security key supplied by the domain wasn't accepted as proof of identity. It let me go ahead as long as I clicked to say I was happy it was the correct domain. I went ahead and it failed again.
I tried my other 5 website and and each of these connected and brought up the directory fine.
I've opened a support ticket so will wait to hear. Would be easier of we had access to control panel and could check ftp accounts etc
Hi ALl,
Just to update. Support checked the login details which were all OK. Advised I make sure that Filezila was using Active connection method.
I went into the advanced settings in filezila for this host and selected 'Active' in the connection types and now all is good.
So in Filezilla go to 'Site manager' then in the transfer settings tab select 'Active' and you should be OK.
Thanks all for help
Had an exchange with support who advised I needed to set Filezilla to use active transfer mode. I did this and it works fine now.
Hi
I had a problem getting filezilla to connect and changing transfer settings to Active and switching off my firewall didn't help.
I contacted support and they suggested setting the port to 21 in the General tab.
This worked for me and Filezilla is now playing nicely with my site.
moral of the story? if you're stuck, ask those nice people in support.

Having problems with ftp access via filezilla?
Hi All,
I'm having problems connecting via FTP to my domain businessdebtrescue.org.

I keep getting "Connection attempt failed with "EAI_AGAIN - Temporary failure in name resolution" which indiactes it's being blocked by a firewall. Do they not allow FTP?
Often a firewall will interfere with an ftp connection. Temporarily turn it off if possible. Then reassert it when done.
