Do you use an about me page as well as a home page?
I read an interesting article last night written by Lynda Goldman about the importance of personalizing your about me, home, and contact me pages and highlighting how they are not really about you, but how they provide a human face to our site and how it will help the customer.

I think this is an important part to your website, it is a lot like our pictures and bios here at WA (if you really want to see a pic of me, you can click on my profile, I just think my pup looks better than I do!) . They add a personal touch and when I talk (by response or post) I feel closer to the people I can put a face to. I think this is true for websites too!
I found it after I published something that needed to be corrected - in a panic for my horrid keyboard strokes.
Another tip: the like button under each avatar can be clicked if you appreciate the person coming by, leaving a message or whatever. It does not require that you actually "like" the content of the message. You get to choose how to use it, as an acknowledgement or a genuine LIKE the comment.
Hi Scoot. I have both and the home page is on topic, the about me page is on me. I have a theme to my site and hwile I've been off for a bit and am still learning for generating traffic, I've been blogging for awhile. I looked at your profile so if your biz is personalized to what you're experiencing and your own history and you will be having links outside WA right from the start then some sort of color theme and current day of blogging can be great. An about me page could be your Australia to Canada move. Where in canada are you?
Looks like my link didn't work, try again

See that blue cog under your title just under the word bog? If you click on it you can put the information you just put in a comment in your post by editing it. Then it will not slide down as the comments come in! Happy learning!

as we build businesses, it is important to remember that the services or purpose of our sites are different to but informed by the founders...
It is important to have separate pages IMO so that we can better define our services and allow people to better connect to the people behind them.
Good question, and again, some great answers down below...Andy
