Limiting Beliefs Part 3

Ways to Discover Your Limiting Beliefs

We've talked about limiting beliefs and examined a short-list of common varieties that may be quite apparent to you. But what about the fuller spectrum of all of the limiting beliefs you're currently unaware of? How do you discover these?

Below are three processes that you can work with in finding and then clearing/letting go of your limiting beliefs. These have been provided by qualified technicians that have used these methods extensively. We have all tried different methods and some of us may already have our favorite methods. I hope these may help depending where you are in your search.

The WiseOne Meditation

The following section is a script for a guided meditation. Listening to it recorded in your own voice will give the best results but is not required to get some benefit.

"Find a place where you can sit back and relax. Get a clear picture in your mind of what you want your future to look like, and imagine that you're living that future right now, in the present tense. Go ahead and visualize that now. Perhaps you want to make more money. Or maybe you want to see yourself improving a relationship or attracting a new
healthy relationship. Can you see yourself with improved health? Whatever it is that you're visualizing, go ahead and imagine that right now.

Now, imagine yourself in a place where you feel totally and completely relaxed. Maybe you're at the beach. Perhaps you're in the mountains. Wherever you are, go there now. Imagine it's a very magical place. As you walk, you seem to become more-and-more relaxed, and more focused and centered on the thoughts and the feelings and sensations that are happening within you. As you walk, you notice a wise person approaching you. You get the sense that this wise person is there to help you uncover your limiting beliefs.

As you approach this wise person, you ask a question. The question is as follows, "For me to have created the future that I am visualizing, what limiting beliefs were necessary to let go of?" As you ask that question, notice what pops up into your mind. Many times, as you do this, you'll have very profound insights come to you ... thoughts that you have not had before or
ideas on what thoughts or limiting beliefs are holding you back. Make sure to write them down.

Maybe the response you get is that you need to believe in yourself more. If that were the case, ask the question, "What do I need to do to believe in myself more?" Was the thought "I need to feel like I deserve it"? Ask, "What do I need to do to let go of feeling that I don't deserve it?" Continue to ask the questions and listen so that you can receive the inspired answers to take the actions that guide your life in the direction you want it to go.

The WiseOne Meditation can help you identify your unconscious limiting beliefs. Once you identify them, you can use any number of clearing techniques to release them. Remember that your subconscious mind is not trying to hide your limiting beliefs from you. It's not trying to create self-sabotage. It is only doing what it has been programmed to do. Its job is to protect you. So, as you ask the right questions, you can receive the exact answers that are going to help take your life to the next level.

Clearing Techniques

Once you have a specific belief that you want to clear, work through the following exercise to release it.

Black & White TV Clearing

Take a deep, cleansing breath and let it go. Observe the feelings in your body. Where in your body do you feel the emotional charge? What are the characteristics of the feeling?

Rate the emotional charge from 0 (no charge) to 10 (100 high emotional charge-highly identified with the belief).

After rating the belief, take in a slow full diaphragm breath through your nose. Hold it for a few seconds. Now slowly exhale out through your mouth. Do these two more times. Then continue to breathe in and out, nice and slowly.

Now imagine yourself standing in a room. The only things in the room are a table holding a small black and white TV. Imagine yourself reaching your hands up into the part of the body that the belief or emotion charge resides. Begin pulling that negative energy out and set it on the floor next to you. Take as much time as you need to get it all out.

Observe the emotional energy. Notice how it appears to you. What shape is it? What color is it? Recognize that it does not belong to you, or in you. It is merely old stuck energy trapped within you. It no longer serves you. It is time to let it go!

See the shape of this energy on the floor beside you. Whatever the shape is, shrink it smaller and smaller, smaller and smaller until it can fit into your TV. Imagine reaching down and picking it up and place it into the black and white TV. See its image on the screen. If it was in color, it's now in black and white. If it's still in color, turn the left knob clockwise till the color fades into black and white.

Now turn the right knob clockwise and see the image of the emotional energy get smaller and smaller as you continue to turn the knob until it's a tiny dot. Then with the last turn, it disappears.

Now it's time to dispose of the TV itself. Be as creative as you'd like. How can you make the TV disappear? Do you want to throw it away or destroy it? It's up to you. Whatever feels right to you is how it should go. If you choose to destroy the TV, visualize how you will obliterate it (bat, sledgehammer, bulldozer). Then imagine those remaining bits disintegrating into dust as you blow them away.

Now take a deep breath and blow it out. Rerate the intensity of the emotion. Repeat the clearing until it is down to preferably a zero but at least below a two. If two or below, it will continue to fade over time as you begin to rewire the new and improved belief through repetition infused with positive emotion.

Color-Breath Clearing

Here is a simple relaxation technique you may use when you are feeling stressed and need to take a few moments to relax, or to release the emotional charge from a limiting belief.

Allow yourself to get comfortable and close your eyes. Breathe deeply, nice and slow, in and out as described in the previous exercise. Clear your mind of thoughts and concerns. Allow yourself to be present in this moment. This moment is just for you.

Observe how you are feeling. What is the negative emotional charge on a scale of 1 to 1O? (0 = no charge, 10 = 100 identified). Breathe in and out. Let it go. Move your awareness to the emotional energy within you. Where do you feel it in your body?

Does it have a color? What is the first color that comes to mind? Assign it to that energy. Feel where it is. See the color of it. Notice if it has a shape. Notice its texture or other qualities.

With your next inhalation, let your breath move into that body space and absorb the negative energy.

With your next exhalation, imagine the color of that energy leaving your body. What color do you associate with healing? What is the first color that pops into your mind? Breathe in that color. With your inhalation, let that color move into the space of your emotional charge. Allow your healing color to replace your negative emotional charge color.

See the negative emotional color leave your body. See the healing color fill the space left behind with love, brilliant healing light, and positive energy. Continue this breath-color clearing until you feel all the negative emotional energy is released and a sense of peace envelops you.

Continue to breathe in and out, slow and deep. Now take in a long deep, slow breath. Hold it for as long as your body will comfortably allow. Now, as you slowly exhale, know that you are releasing every bit of lingering emotional energy of this the negative charge. It is gone, never to return without your permission.

PLEASE COME BACK WITH ANY QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS .

Have a great day.

Stephen.

Stephen - You bring back many memories of things that I encountered when growing up. Bad self image, an alcoholic family background & was not good at doing things right. I was studying Architecture and worked at an Architectural firm for a summer. I ran a project with a more advanced student than myself that went exceptional well. I quit college because I found Architecture was not for me. I went into the Air Force because they promised me the field of electronics which I felt would be more productive than digging holes & filling them in the Army. They taught me Main Frame computer repair and turned my life in a positive direction and never looked back. I had many successes going forward & did well even had my own 1 person distribution business for 17 years which I sold in 2005. Didn't get much for it because of the free trade agreements with many manufacturing jobs going to China.

I can understand what you are talking about because I grew up & out with it. I hated much of my child hood because of it but was fortunate to escape it.

Thank you very much for your Post & Share.

Lots of information--thanks!

I know everyone has their own thoughts and ways to meditate. For me, I meditate in prayer.
